I see there are 17 spots remaining for OOS non-wiche folks, I wonder if they've gone through a lot of tier one already with the Friday deadline offers...?

It’s possible but hard to say considering how big the waitlist was. Only seen oos top tier get called off so far but maybe next week more!

I wouldn't be surprised if they're already in tier 2! I assume a lot of people have already been accepted and started making plans for their solid acceptances.. to where they don't want to re-commit again.. it seems like a lot of people who get acceptances get multiple so it seems like there will be a lot of running thru waitlists and shuffling around.

Honestly, anything can happen! Hope is still to be had for any spot on these waitlists.

They pulled me off April 16th at 2:41 pm pacific time 🙂 and they gave me until noon pacific time 4/21 to accept

You should be getting an email with this information soon! But the official FB page for our class is WSU DVM Class of 2029, and the more general FB page of the CVM is WSU CVM Students: Classifieds. I don't think there is a discord, but correct me if anyone knows about one.

Hey guys, ik its super unrelated, but do you know how long it takes for them to send us instructions to set up a myWSU account for nonresident students? Its been a couple weeks and I've received nothing so far.

Mine took a bit longer (~3 weeks). Amie said there was some issue with the main administration office, so things took a bit longer than expected. It's definitely worth emailing her though.

I’ve heard bad things about Timberline. Everyone I’ve known that’s lived there has said it was just bad.

I stay in Pine Ridge, and I like it. I see a lot of families that live here and the students seem to be on the respectful side. I am planning on moving, though, because I can’t deal with no AC for another year and they keep raising rent prices. I’ve heard good things about The Hills. I hope you find something great!

Not living there yet, but I did some research based on Reddit r/WSU since I'll be moving there soon like everyone else!

Pullman is made up of 4 directional letters: Military Hill (NW), Pioneer Hill (SE), Sunnyside Hill (SW), and College Hill (NE). As the name suggests, College Hill is where the majority of undergrads live. Any apartments/houses away from center of NE or Greek row should be pretty quiet. The only down side is that anywhere else is a little further away from campus, though there is a great bus system, and Pullman is very drivable and bikeable.

Places or landlords to avoid:
1. DRA: cheap but number one worst of the worst, claims that you did not pay when you did, adding in mysterious fees after months of signing the lease, basically nonexistent maintenance, charging for everything to keep your deposit, and last but not least, rude management
2. Helene's: slightly better than DRA but similar issues
3. Heritage Realty: less well known compared to DRA and Helene's, but just as bad of a reputation
4. Timberline on the Green (formerly the Ruckus): disgusting apartments, bad maintenance and awful management (management changed recently and some say the newer apartments are not that bad)

I rented from DABCO for 2 years of undergrad and 3 years of vet school (Pimlico then Aspen Village).

Pros: their properties are moderately priced, lots of units available, management is pretty quick to respond to maintenance requests, the properties are pretty well maintained, several pet friendly options, pretty close to campus and bus stops, and utilities weren't very $$$.

Cons: some properties don't have in-unit laundry, some interiors are dated (old carpet, etc), can pretty much expect a rent increase every year, office staff constantly turnover, you should expect to not get your deposit back (although I got most of mine back after vet school - I left it very clean and in good repair), neighbors can be loud (combo of college town + some properties are older buildings with thinner walls, etc), people suck at picking up their dog waste (I'm sure this is an everywhere problem).

Neutral: Pretty much no amenities (pool, clubhouse, grills, etc) which I personally view as a pro because I wasn't paying for stuff I wasn't going to use, but if you want those types of things then this may be a con for you.

Overall I would rent from them again.
