Do you know how many or when they were pulled off?
I only know two people that got pulled off and I believe they said it was mid/late April. I think students have until April to accept there spots, so if it’s gonna happen it’ll likely happen then!

Is it a for sure thing that they are going to pull people off by tiers or just based on what the school needs? Or both?

Both. They pull all of Tier 1 before moving on to Tier 2

My coworker was class of 2020 and she said there was a person in her class that was pulled off last minute right before school started and he had to scramble to move to Pullman. I doubt that happens very often, but sometimes people have last minute life changes.

This happened to someone in my class too, she was literally en route moving to a different school and changed plans right before orientation (there was a huge cost difference so it made sense even though I'm sure it was incredibly stressful).

This is honestly my worst fear. I would hate for my husband to have a job lined up and for us to be about to move in August only to be called off the waitlist. So stressful

From what I have read, IS last year received an email a week later with a ranking. I have also heard some years that they tell you if you are in the top 50% but don’t give you a number. So frustrating
We did not receive a rank last year or the year prior. They only said that you are in the top 50% of the list, if applicable. I’m glad they are being more transparent this year. It would’ve alleviated a lot of stress in those years!

Is there anyone on here that got in on one of the two international seats?
How would one know? :-D
When I applied they told me international students would be in the 2+OOS pool.
But for the record, I'm Canadian; not sure if I was one of the two, or was accepted as the OOS.

If you’re international then you are one of the international seats lol

Not necessarily.
Cause if more than two international people got in, the others would be from the OOS pool. I don't know who else got in as international student.

Wsu specifically said they were admitting 2 international seats. Do you mean they admitted more international people in the oos seats? I think they only allocate the 2 international seats for all international applicants but maybe I misunderstood

When I asked them a while back, they told me 2 international seats, but they'd be considered in the OOs pool as well.

"There are two designated seats for international students, however, international students are also considered in the nonresident pool."

So, I don't know how many applied this year, but I hope that they share the stats later on.

2/60 seats are secured for international students, but it does not mean we only accept 2 international students. For example, if there are 3 international students are admitted, it means that 2/3 people will fill the 2 spots first and the other one will be consider OOS applicant like other US applicants. Hope that helps.

Oh that makes sense! I wasn’t sure if the slotted seats were like set in stone for the 2 seats

Woah this is so cool!! I haven’t seen a school do this yet, I really like the transparency
This is really cool!!! I’m so happy they’re being this transparent.

It is hard enough being on a waitlist, this helps take some of the mystery or worry out of it.

I will most likely be turning down my OOS seat in the next week or two, I hope they start pulling people soon!

Are there any Idaho acceptances that are giving up spots? Just curious to see.... I am currently waiting. My partner made it in as an OOS but we need to go together, being apart for 4 years would be really hard....

Wow, that's a really tough situation! I’m actually an Idaho in-state student and I’m not planning on declining my seat, but I’m hoping everything works out for you both and I'll be sure to let you know if anything changes!

It's a tough situation 😢 We would both love to go there because of the low COL. We keep on hoping! It would mean so much to us to make it this year, but I don't think my luck will be with me. I think me and my SO might not accept and then we can keep doing our undergrad/get more hours together at BSU. With such low number of seats for idaho, we may not get moved up the waitlist espcially because Im lower in the tiers

Why not have them accept their seat, move with them and reapply once you have established residency in WA?

Did either of you apply to any other school or just WSU? I'm an Idaho IS too, planning on going. Sorry to hear about situation, best of luck to you two!

Keep in mind that just because a school offered your SO a seat this year, that doesn't mean that they will be offered a seat again next year. It may be worth them accepting and you two being a year apart in vet school.

This! especially if they turn down their seat if I was a program I wouldn’t invite them back if they declined the first time it just gives a weird impression

Right, this. @LoveCats213 Worth checking to see if they'll let your SO defer by a year. Some schools allow that. Or @Dovetailequine's suggestion about going with them now and establishing residency to get into the WA applicant pool for next year is a good suggestion as well. Best of luck and congrats to both of you for getting this far!

This is really good advice, but I don't know if I could go with him because I still need to do some pre requisites here. I would barely finish them by the end of May. Then I still need to finish my bachelor's. My SO have already finished theirs though. I will think about all of this advice! Thank you all!

I just formally declined my seat. One more person on the wait-list will hopefully get their offer soon! Good luck future dvms!
What applicant pool were you in? OOS?

Anyone knows if the tuition information we got in our packet is up-to-date? I'm an OOS. The hub has it as $62,936, and it is not updated.

Has anyone been pulled off the waitlist yet? I am curious if they are going to wait until after the April 15th deadline to pull people off.

I haven’t. I know they said we could see movement before the 15th but tbh I’m not expecting anything before then

hey guys i’m from illinois and on the waitlist in tier 2! my bf is from the seattle area and im visiting him this weekend and we’re gonna go up to wsu to visit just for me to consider in case i do get off the waitlist, since im anyways going to be in the area. I know pretty much everything is only open to the public on the weekdays and the vth tour has been booked out. So i’m wondering if anyone has any insight on if it’s possible to see the school on sat or sun. If not does anyone just have any recommendations of what we can see on the campus in general for sat or sun.
