pre-interview or post?
I got my acceptance today =) yay for UIC...(I'm from toledo, OH)
good luck guys!!
You won't be attending UIC unfortunately... The Chicago campus (UIC) has been full for over a month now. I think everyone who is left is getting put on the Urbana / Rockford track.
How are the slots for Chicago assigned as folks withdraw from UIC? Isn't it done by when they were accepted? Meaning someone who was accepted in January after Chicago filled would get a Chicago reassignment before someone was accepted in March, correct?Thats not necessarily true, there will be many people who withdraw from UIC that had the Chicago campus, some people who are accepted now will still definitely get placed in Chicago.

Hey kids- sad to say, I may be giving up hope in IL because I received an acceptance at Michigan State yesterday evening. I feel like I'm abandoning you guys🙁 but honestly, I couldn't be more excited for a change of pace and for this truly fantastic news. I'm a third time applicant (the first time I applied was four years ago- holy crap), definitely not 22, and SO EXCITED.
Good luck to the rest of you- I'll be checking in to see how you're all doing and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you, too.![]()
Congrats for sure, you will love MSU. I went there for undergrad and it really is a place that grows on you.and there still may be good UIC news in your future.
Congrats, BeanerMD. Glad to hear you found a good home...
congrats on MSU!! awesome job 🙂 i'm sure you will be happy there.Hey kids- sad to say, I may be giving up hope in IL because I received an acceptance at Michigan State yesterday evening. Probably a lot more work....What would I do without SDN?!😍
Congrats BeanerMD!
I just got received the "no final decision has been made on your application" e-mail for the third time! Do they send it out each time they review your file?
I just received that email too (for the second time)...

just got an interview invite from them 🙂 and i was told that it's not for a waitlist spot. 🙂
congrats. im glad to hear they are still inviting people.. mind if i ask what your numbers were?
Id also be interested in knowing this.
i received an estimated financial packet (containing loan offers, etc.) from them with the instructions to complete it within 10 business days. i called to tell them that i could not yet complete the form accurately (still waiting to hear from Chicago campus MD/PhD), and they said that I should just get it in as soon as possible.Does anyone happen to know when UIC sends out financial packets? Has anyone received anything? My FAFSA was processed at the end of February, so I am just anxious/curious. As far a I can tell, it seems some people from the Class of 2010 thread received them at the end of March, last year. Thanks in advance for any response.
I told them I wasn't yet sure if I'd be attending UIC and they said to hold off on filing it out until I make a decision. I get the impression the 10 day turnaround is more for the convenience of UIC's finaid department...i received an estimated financial packet (containing loan offers, etc.) from them with the instructions to complete it within 10 business days. i called to tell them that i could not yet complete the form accurately (still waiting to hear from Chicago campus MD/PhD), and they said that I should just get it in as soon as possible.
hey everyone, got a quick question. If we are accepted for the incoming school year, and we still have to complete the premed requirements, can we complete them the summer before school starts? like complete the pre-req's this summer and start this fall IF we are already accepted?? thanks a lot..

ahh, yes, makes sense (esp. considering how the person i spoke to didn't seem at all concerned WHY i couldn't send it in yet).I told them I wasn't yet sure if I'd be attending UIC and they said to hold off on filing it out until I make a decision. Sorry to hear the news meg@cool. That's a bummer....I called today and was told that my application had been reviewed finally, but they had declined to invite me for an interview.... Cant even believe this bull****.

Is UIC one of those schools in which you can speak to the admissions dean to find out what they felt about your application was lacking? Or can you do a very quick appeal (long shot, I know).really this is completely baffling i had a 3.8 and a 32R and an IL resident. dont even get an interview

I completely feel your pain but only for Rush not UIC. In-state with a 3.6 and a 34 MCAT, no interview. Oh well, I always loved UIC more.
rush didnt give me an interview either. neither did loyola

So... the a final decision has been made message is a good thing? We can be a little less stressed out?
Also, chicago is full... right? Does anyone have an opinion on Rockford? I interviewed at peoria, but i'm wondering about some insight into the rockford site.
