How lightning fast is this game gonna be?? I have my board exam on Wednesday but am taking tomorrow pretty much off from studying... I won't be around Wednesday morning/afternoon, but I'm free as a bird after that monster of a test is over. Thoughts? Should I play or not?

It is a normal game.... not a lightning fast one - only 18 players though, so will just go faster than our monster games recently :laugh:
 
Currently organizing everything into a spreadsheet for this game...

WTH did I do to myself??😱

This is going to be insane....

I am warning everyone right now: There will be NO reminder PMs for roles/items. If you want your role/item to be used...PM. If I don't receive a PM, it gets RNG'd (this will include a chance of the role/item not being used). There is just too much else going on in this game to be sending out reminders.

Awesome pawesome. This is going to be a lot of fun. Also, since I'm not in a group with TW, I may have time to like go to the bathroom in between all the PM's. 😉 :laugh:
 
Since this game is on a time limit for how long it can take to run, I need opinions on time frames. I was orginally going to try to do 2 day and 2 night cycles in one day. But I think I may just try to do 3 cycles/day.

What does everyone think about these times:

8AM PST deadline

2PM PST deadline

8PM PST deadline

I am open to any/all suggestions. Once I get a schedule though I would like to stick with it. There will for sure be at least one exception (July 7th) but I will work around that when that day comes.

Not against it, but I will likely be unable to make the 2 pm deadline most days.

I need ideas of times that will work for people in the middle of the day then. Please state a time with time zone so I can make a time that works for the majority. I would rather have a majority that can be available rather than have a majority that is unavailable.

What about 4 pm PST (most of us eastern people should be off work by then) and then 9 pm PST

Yeah, I'm more for the 4pm deadline. Then I know I'll be off of work for sure.

The 8 PM deadline might be hard for me.... some days like today I am up until 4 AM, but others I just can't do it. :laugh: I am 8 hours ahead of PST.

What about those that work on the west coast?? 😕 (Sorry I have a west coast bias😉)

I was trying to come up with something that would be around lunch time/mid-day.
 
I think Lynch deadline is more important.

Maybe have the lynch deadline be the most accessible to people. That way, we can have more discussions and waffling!

For night PM deadlines, at least people can put in contingency PM's.
 
I'm thinking it's going to be hard for any of the working folk to make it to all 3, so maximizing convenience for most peeps would be ideal I think. Is 2 pm that much better for west coasters over 4 pm?

Since there are 3 cycles/day the lynching/night cycles would constantly alternate.

I am with wolfspeaker. I would rather have 4 deadlines in a day with REALLY short nights. As long as you are consistent there is no reason for a long night.

Give us as much time as possible for lynches. that is when discussion should happen. no need for equal time for nights.

example: 8am lynch deadline
10am night deadline
5pm lynch deadline
7 pm night deadline

just a thought. although that will be a lot of work in one day.

2pm is actually right about my lunchtime. But 4pm means I'd have to put in my vote at lunch and hope for the best.
 
My days are pretty open right now, so I'm not going to weigh in on the best times. I can work with whatever is best for the majority. But whatever they end up being, I think keeping them consistent is the most important thing. If they're consistent, at least people will know when they have to send off contingencies.
 
3 cycles a day seems like an awful lot of work for you mods. :scared:👎

Having to keep up with the thread AND read all the PM's you get AND do write-ups, without making TOO many mistakes. In such a short time period.

2 cycles I can see, but 3? Are you ever going to sleep? or eat? Or do anything else for that matter LMAO.

This. Is what I had originally wanted to do, but thought that it might be a bit much for everyone. It won't be too bad for me because I will not be working and I can just jump on about 30 minutes before a deadline get myself caught up and close out the day or night.

Especially with 40 players, nights can be hella confusing. IPB and I spent like a half hour just figuring out what was going to happen, sorting PMs, etc, much less sending them out, and everything.

But you do realize that for east coasters with 9-5 jobs they'll have to miss the morning AND 2 pm votes. And if they vote during lunch at noon, they'll have to hope for the best for a lynch 5 hrs later. So my point was that maybe it's best to make sure that everyone can do 2 cycles reliably. But then the central and mountain peeps also kind of get screwed at some point too... Don't even know what's going on with the drunkies overseas.

So I'm liking sov and ipb's ideas of consistency, and maximizing scheduling for the lynch votes

I know. I have modded once or twice before. 😉

The problem is that the game HAS to end around July 15th. No later. So it needs to go at a faster pace than normal because of the number of players.
 
If there are 2 cycles per day, being done by July 15 shouldn't be a problem. Figuring in maximum 4 deaths/lynches per day. Yes, some days may not have any, but other days may have more than 4(going off of previous games).
 
I like the consistency and giving extra time for lynches too...

Two cycles a day is out of the question because the game won't end on time.

So I propose this:

8AM lynch deadline

(Gives the mod some time to do something in between here).

11AM night deadline

6PM lynch deadline (west coasters that work till 5PM will have some opportunity to get on here)

9PM night deadline

Is this any more or less reasonable for people?

I realize that. You asked if 2pm was really better for west coasters and it is for this one lol. I don't expect deadlines to be based on one person though so I get it and will work with what I got 😳
 
That's perty good DD. I'll probably miss the second lynch a day or a few unless I can sneak on but I am totally good with that. (Get to work at 7:30 and get off at 7, thank goodness that's not everyday!)

Assuming that you allow for some contingency votes to be put in, this works more or less for me.

😉 I know. I just can't imagine how crazy everything will be with all the PMs...scares me just thinking about it.

I'm fine with whatever.
 
DVMD that looks good to me! The 8am lynch kinda sucks for east coasters, but there's really no way around it. We'll all just have to keep that in mind when we start randomly bandwagoning that the Easters may not be around to defend themselves.

Any way the evening lynch can be moved an hour later? With 40 players voting, it would suck for the west coaster to get off work at 5 and need to read through everything and defend/get that vote in within an hour (and get home esp for those without smartphones)

I think this is as close as we will be able to get to make everyone happy.
