Hmmm. I guess I am not a big fan of silencing to begin with. And it seems impossible to separate silencing from not around, so it seemed like veteran players just post a lot. I thought I would just codify what was happening in reality.

I would honor what any mod says on the subject, and I was just making fun of DVMD b/c she uses the thread so much.

But if you really think it destroys the integrity of the game then you can close my silence thread.

just be sure to put a message so people know it is closed.

Again, I leave it to the mods of each game. I wasn't uncomfortable enough with it to want to close it, just that it does devalue parts of the game. Silencing has drawbacks and mechanics just like every other role/item/action in the game. Silencing allows attacks to have actions without killing people. It also allows for wolves and villagers alike to be unavailable to present their case. There are others, of course.

I do use the thread but I don't use it anymore than anyone else. I will stop using it. I tend to agree that it takes away the purpose of silencing. I know lots of people aren't fans of silencing but it is a part of the game.

But Lissa and I haven't talked about it; if she disagreed with me strongly, I'm not so attached to my opinion that I'd debate it with her. So at least for Avengers I don't think it's decided. (Hey Lissa - there's my opinion. You ok with it, or do you want to leave it open?)

I think it is all disrespectful to the game, actually, which is why I wasn't too sure about it when it started.

Part of the game is to figure out who is silenced and how. Kind of defeats the purpose to be told that person is silenced in a thread.

I was going to suggest the same thing. I don't care if people post in the meme thread or post in a lot of threads, but I agree on the silence thread.

And explain lots of different roles I've seen, and all the tricksy things wolves do and villagers do etc etc. It was a MARATHON explanation. Very annoying to have to explain things from both the wolves and the villagers points of view...

2. some people have special powers (seeing, healing, etc.)

He cited some "case histories" in the past and all, but after learning the above 2 points, it sounded pretty much like blah, blah, blah, to me.

Although, I recall myself saying "really?," "oh, wow," "that's interesting"! to his blahs, when all I was thinking was "heck! when does this damn heat in Philly end?" or "I want to kill that mosquito!" ...

Clearly SOV has not learned one of the first things you figure out with clients: you can never give them more than 2-3 separate 'topics' to handle, or they forget it all.

Unfortunately my sister won't be able to play. 🙁 Turns out she'll be out of town for like five days at the beginning of the game (I just learned this a couple hours ago) and she doesn't have a smartphone (yet!). It's actually likely she'll have one by the end of the game...go figure.

Just got home from vacation, now I need a vacation from my vacation. My face, chest and arms are so incredibly burnt. Thankfully, I now have a way to escape from anymore family drama. Love my family, but it is so annyoing when they argue with each other. I am the laidback, calm, go with the flow type person so I just let them argue it out but it is embarassing when they do it in public. 🙄

SOV, devyn any timeline for when x-men might end. If it is going to be in the next day or two I will hold off starting my game so that we don't have two games going at once.
