The inspiration for my user name came from my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. We like to call ourselves the pretty girls and we were founded January 15, 1908. Hence prettygirl1908 :)

ha ha ha..... skeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I know I should not do that b/c
1. I am a male
2. I am NOT greek (but my ex is AKA and so is my mother)

but I think it sounds funny.

So why does one of the other soror grps have a similar sounding call? Am I getting a taste of a little imitation but never duplication going on!?

I am thinking about creating a new one though!

mine is where I go to school (DUQuesne) and you know the doc part (very unoriginal I know) the 184 are my two favorite numbers 18 & 4. 18 being the number of my favorite player ever Jason Kendall.....even though he left me :(

My username was created in high school by a couple of my friends on varsity basketball team. After games (of course I was te star...chuckle) our coach would take us to McDonald's to get some grub! Since I loved chicken mcnuggets I always ordered them. So one day while cracking jokes on each other and having fun while eating our Mc E D's, I cracked a friendly joke about one of my teammates and he came back by calling McNugget b/c I liked chicken mcnuggets and my last name begins with Mc. Yeah his joke was kinda corny, but for some reason it stuck with my team, my high school friends, and even my college friends (I did not eat many chicken mcnuggets in college. I just told them about my nickname).

That's my story!

Humuhumu means triggerfish in Hawaiian. In fact, the (unofficial) state fish of hawaii is humuhumu nukunuku apua'a. I happen to think they're beautiful, and they're so fun to watch in their natural habitat. Currently I don't live anywhere near their natural habitat, but it's nice to dream....

I actually mispelled mine, it's supposed to be domo kun , which is a japanese furry brownie looking thing with teeth, oh, and they kill kittens under certain circumstances. Please think of the kittens.... I just think they are cool looking, and I'm kind of a anime/anything japanese geek.

I used to play a lot of video games.

I used to deliver newspapers as an adult which involves delivering hundreds of papers at 3am. This job got me hooked on coffee and now I can't stop drinking it. I love it so very much, especially Dunkin Donuts coffee. :D

Xanthines are a group of chemicals of which caffeine is a member. A particular methylated xanthine found in chocolate is lethal to canines.

I figure of all the things I could be addicted to, coffee is probably the least damaging!

I like to use theobromine as an avatar just to confuse people who might "recognize" it. Under it I usually put "Bad for dogs."

Aragon is province in Spain. Its also the place where the legendary Cid comes from.

But really, Aragon is a misspelled form of Aragorn (of Lord of the Rings). Found out it was misspelled after creating AOL account way back in the 90's, but kept it ever since.

H is the middle name.

Great story eh? Hehe. ;)

Kaplan suggests drawing a green dot on study sheets, notes, etc. and use it to center yourself when getting stressed about the mcat. Lame as it may seem, I actually began to do it, first as a joke and then as a habit, until it started to work. The green dot helped me stay relaxed during the exam.

hahahahha........I thought your greendot was because you noticed the greendot on the corner of our posts which indicates that someone is online.

My user name comes from the fact that I'm gujarati and guju is a nickname that gujarati indians call themselves.

So I thought gujudoc would be my username.......since some day I hope to be a doctor and I'm of gujarati origin.

Oh ok.  :D

Shredder,

By the way, I forget which cartoon that was, but that looks real familiar from back in the day.

As per what someone said about cartoons not being as good anymore as from the past, I agree totally!!!!!! Now a days, they try to make each and every show wayyyyyyy toooooooooooo educational. I loved the old story time where they told the classic fairy tales. Being a girl, I also loved Rainbrow Bright, Carebears, and little bits, the koalas (nickolodean shows) things of that nature. But I also loved the things my brother's loved like "He Man, Voltrons, etc".

Yah bad character's are always the more interesting one's because they are the one's that "Drive the plot forward and cause the good one's to react". The bad guys in any given television show always are the ones that keep you on edge and keep you in suspense.

Interesting thread! Good to know these things as we travel this journey together. Mine is based on the Samuel Beckett play "Waiting for Godot." Without going into the details of the play, two characters, Pozzo and Lucky, are waiting for the arrival of Godot. Well, he never shows up. Rather than saying I'm Godot, I'm just reminded of the constant waiting game we experience with applying to med school: MCAT scores, secondaries, interviews, wait lists, acceptances. None of which guarantee we'll ever get into medschool. Yet somehow we trudge on, with faith that our accomplishments will get us somewhere...

Angus Young of AC/DC is, in my opinion, the greatest musician/performer ever.

I thought so but wasn't sure. Hey what was the name of the Rat from Turtle Power????? The one that was the turtle's father like figure????????????

I, for some reason, was confusing his name with the villain's name. Don't really know why. for some reason, I can't seem to remember the rat's name just that they were all master's in martial arts.

splinter. easily confused names. just have to remember that Shredder sounds more evil, he shreds stuff up, classmates lab reports' included .

good analysis of villains and plot. this was largely the case in batman movies except the recent one. bond movies too pretty much. the good guy is always the same, but the shifty bad guy is dynamic, always hatching creative schemes.

Aw yes, now I remember. Man oh man, that takes me back to childhood days when me and my brother's used to watch all these cartoons. I always thought the cartoons were way better then the turtle movies. Same with batman and Xmen. I liked the cartoons way better then the movies. But that's just my opinion.

Oh and that name is perfect for you after the way you shred the MCAT to bits.

Yah what I was saying about Villain and plots was one of the same things one of the villain characters on this soap opera I used to watch said during an interview. he was commenting on why it was more fun playing the evil role vs. the good role. But I agree with everything he said and think it is true. In any show that I watch, I'm always waiting to see what the villain will do next because that's where the suspense lies. The good characters get boring if they don't have the evil characters around.

Plus the bad guys often have complex characters. They always make you wonder what made them become as they are now. What drives them to do the things they do?? these are the things that make them interesting.

I like to climb high...

really didn't think it through, just chose it, doesn't mean anything in particular

I used to play a computer game called Jedi Knight back in junior high and my name was Zero. One of the friends I played with starting saying Zero you're my Hero and its stuck with me since. I also later found out that it was a song in the Hercules animated movie.

I've had this username and have used it for my email for a loong time.. it's what i use on other messageboards.. it's just what i'm known by now..

Mine..is just my name...I love it, but someone people that I am close to rarely use my name. So when they do, it means I'm in trouble! :p

I made mine originally as an AIM screen name (Mateodaspy=Mateo Da Spy=Matt The Spy) when I was 12 years old and wanted a new SN to use to spy on a friend whom I thought had blocked me. I've used this SN for everything ever since. Kind of sad, I know.

Not an ignorant question at all, so no worry.

Just like here in USA, there are different states in India. To be exact there are 20 states in india, with most of them having their own language. And just as in America, the Capital of the nation is its own entity separate from the rest of the states.

Gujarat is a state in the west central part of India. My parents are from that region. Likewise, when you hear people refer to them selves as Punjabi, Bengali, Malyalee, etc..........that all refers to the parts they are from.

To complicate matters even more, there are 18 national languages, which leaves almost each state with their own language.

Hope that clarifies. :D

hardy -> G.H. Hardy.
A great English mathematician from the first half of the 20th century. He did some great work in number theory related to the Goldbach and Riemann conjecture. Since I am into math, I also like his book "A mathematician's apology". Of course, other people might think this is boring....

Oh yeah, the Hardy-Weinberg principle from Genetics (p^2+2pq +q^2 = 1) is also due to him, hence the name.

Couldn't get 69FirebirdGuy in many programs because you have to start your SN with a letter, not a number.
