To anyone who has talked to the admissions office recently: did you just call the phone # on the admissions web site? I wanted to confirm receipt of my update letter to them, but every time I've tried to call them during normal business hours, I've gotten their voice mail.

I called the number listed in the MSAR, which is the same as the number listed under the contact us section of the perspective student area on their website.

really hoping for a letter in march, from the looks of sdn it seems not many people got letters in the months before? hopefully they're sending out a huge batch in march....

They're having their last admissions committee meeting on March 11 I believe, and I'm pretty sure that they'll be making final decisions(accept/waitlist/reject) on every applicant that has yet to receive one.

email june eddingfield. she is the admissions manager and will let you know if the update letter is received. that's what I did.

Our info from the interview lists March 11 as the March day for letters to be mailed, so I think the adcomm meeting will be a few days earlier.

My guess is that it will probably be this Thursday, since it seems that their meetings are on the Thursdays before the mailing dates listed on the sheet.

good luck everyone. I'm hoping for some type of news in the coming week or two.

Anyone missing sleep tonight? Letters go out today or tomorrow, supp.

Not losing sleep, but it must be on my mind since I had a dream last night that they waitlisted me 🙁. Now, losing sleep due to daylight savings time is another story 🙄.

Why can't they just send a good old fashioned Email? I won't find out for at least a couple weeks. I'm living in the Dominican Republic, the letter is getting sent to a house that my parents are moving to, but haven't moved to yet. Grrrr

Good luck guys and gals!!!

Thanks! I interviewed in late February, so this is a quick turnaround for me -- and more than a little nerve-wracking. I barely had time to think about what a great school it is before I realized that'd they'd probably already decided about me. Now we'll see just what they decided.

I got my letter today!!! Post-marked March 8th. I live in the ATL.

I interviewed in early Nov.

Best wishes to everyone else!!

So stoked!

Does anyone know if acceptances and rejections are mailed all at the same time (tomorrow)? And will the waitlist email come tomorrow as well? Or are letters sent in batches? It may be a long week....good luck everyone:luck:

No, way! I thought they didn't go out till today... March 8th was a Saturday... Maybe they stuck 'em in the mail after the last pick-up on Friday?

Nothing here... Was your accepatnce regular mail, or expedited? What was the envelope like?

Congrats, Crut! I thought the letters were being mailed tomorrow, but thats exciting that you found out so soon. I'm on the west coast, so I'll be waiting for a while!

Emory told me everyone would get a letter sent tomorrow, either acceptance, rejection, or waitlist. But above poster said he got an acceptance post-marked Saturday, so maybe we can all expect news tomorrow...

Anyone else heard?

It looks like regular mail to me. I'm very close to Emory though. Post-marked March 8th. Normal large white envelope. Not too bulky though.

Thanks for all the congrats and all the best!!

Folded letter size or paper size envelope? What was the date on the letter?

Paper size envelope, not folded.

Date on letter was March 7.

Thought everyone might like to know...

I just called Emory. They said they mailed acceptances last week, but they still have a few more to mail out tomorrow.

They also said that if you don't get a letter by the end of this week (forgoing mail problems), you aren't accepted. BUT they don't know who they're waitlisting, yet, so rejection/waitlist letters won't go out, yet.

Thanks for the info, DD. Looks like we have to wait some more.

Congrats, Crut! 👍

Best of luck to the rest of you :luck:

Wow, they're out. I'm guessing that since the dude that got accepted interviewed in early november that they probably sent out the acceptances for the interview pool that hadnt received final decisions yet( extending back to the first october dates) and are probably finishing up the acceptances for the last of the interviews this week and now everyone else being decided upon thereafter. It'll be pretty long and painful if we don't hear anything soon, cause now Emory could take its sweet time if it wanted to in deciding who to reject and who to waitlist. That'd be awful (especially cause I interviewed all the way back on the second day of the season for them.) Best of luck to everyone.

I agree! This whole waiting game with Emory has been a nightmare! I think my mailbox is starting to fall apart from me opening it with so much enthusiasm the last four months...sigh...I guess just another week of this madness although my future with Emory looks dim... 🙁

Thanks for doing what we all were hoping someone would do...have the guts to call the Admin office. Guess they'll be toying with our emotions for a little while longer if we don't get accepted right away. I just want to know!!!!

Yeah, I feel the same way. BUT, at least this way, if I get a letter this week, I know it's good news. If I don't, I know it's bad news immediately and I can prep before I get the letter...

You know, burn all my Emory pamphernilia, tear up my picture of the dean I keep under my pillow...

I like that, that's straight up and no BS. Props to Emory for that. Also, when I was there, they told me that they don't reject anyone post-interview. Everyone that has interviewed but was not accepted gets put into an "unranked" waitlist.

Hope this helps and good luck.

LOL, well, they didn't say that. I pulled it out of them and they agreed, lol.

They also said that they had not decided who was going on their waitlist... So that sounds like there will be some rejections.

i thought Watson was the one that used his intelligence and Sherlock Holmes just brute forced everything like Chuck Norris

Oh, I never read the books, so I don't know.

I do know one thing, though... Chuck Norris rocks my world!

well good luck with emory
i don't think i'll be in because my interview didn't go so well and i didn't get into the Jan. or Feb. cycle

Shoot, man, you don't know anything yet. For all you know, all of us late interviewees totally blew our interviews!

I'm with you. The group interview didn't go well, and since I haven't heard, I'm preparing myself for the worst, but there's still hope.

Of course there is still hope. It's not over until it's over.

And at least for me, it was hard to judge how I did in the group interview cause the dynamic was so much different than a 1-on-1 interview, but nothing really happened to make me think it went poorly. I talked to the student interviewer about it beforehand, and she said that the group interviews are just about making sure you can act civilized and have a normal conversation with a group of people, and that's it. I'm sure you guys did fine.

Well, time to wait some more. I'm hoping we all get good news this week. :luck:

I accidentally made a comment on the tour that I don't think the guide liked, and she was one of my group interviewers. And I didn't get to talk much in the group interview, or really explain my answers.

LOVED my one-on-one, though.

my one-on-one was also great, probably one of my best interviews in my opinion

but i thought the fact that the tour guide was one of the group interviewers is just not right
I don't believe the tour guides / interviewers evaluate you whatsoever. That's what we were told, anyway. They are sitting in on the interview, obviously, and their interaction with you could influence the faculty members' opinions. They could also state their opinion of you after you leave the room I guess? Anyway, probably not worth worrying about at this point. Good luck to all of you waiting. Erica said that if Emory is your #1, to definitely write a letter stating so.

My group interview was actually pretty fun -- my fellow interviewees were classy and very interesting. I think it's true that they admissions people just want to see you interacting with your potential future classmates/colleagues, to discern if you're going to try to upstage, undermine, or ignore them.

Nothing for me in the mail today... Anyone else?

Nothing for me either, and I interviewed in Oct, so I figured today would be a good arrival day for the Sat letters. Oh well, here's hoping for the end of the week.

You all get your mail wicked early. Mine usually doesn't come until 5 or 6 PM.

Alright, so apparently people say that they haven't made decision on waitlist/rejection yet, only acceptance?

Here's a paranoid question. I emailed Emory yesterday saying that the address they had on file was not the preferential place I am receiving mail and I gave them a change of address. Today they sent an email saying they will update my information.

If I was accepted, they probably would have sent it already, and perhaps let me know that? Or do you think they need to update it regardless for future information about my acceptance and all that is to come from me enrolling at Emory???

Give me hope! please!

anyone getting any love from Emory today???

well something has to show up sometime sooner or later if they sent everything out within the last several days

i can't believe i'm answering my own question....with a yes 😀 good luck to all of you!!!!

CONGRATS! Where do you live? If its near the west coast, then I'll resign myself to awaiting for a reject or waitlist letter, until then, I'll still believe!
