The majority don’t reccomend it. That being said, you should find ways to improve your application. Afterwards, you should give it two cycles. But take a break if you don’t get in your first cycle. If you do t get in second cycle, then you should go offshore, but it’s not recommended.

With a 3.0 and 2.6 GPA, you will not be successful enough to pass through a foreign medical school, which often have bad attrition rates (as much as 50 percent of the class is dropped in the first 2 years). Just "passing" the USMLE != residency placement. If you are unwilling/unable to bring your sGPA up to 3.0 or above, don't bother with MCAT, and just go for MBA. If you really want to go through with med school, do a post bacc, and retake any courses in which you got a C or lower. Do not take MCAT until your GPA is there.

Take an extra year, get a good mcat, and apply to Puerto Rico schools and you should be okay. They have mostly above 3.0 science GPA however so it will definitely be a huge struggle, I'm thinking a very good MCAT could make up for it since the median mcat for most of those schools is very very low.

UAG used to be a viable option for American students who couldn't get into a US medical school but wanted to do residency here. This was through the Fifth Pathway program created by the AMA in 1971 but has since been discontinued. One of the cardiac anesthesiologists I trained under went through this pathway but he was really old. See below for more information on it.

Although going through UAG may be more beneficial given the name recognition from its involvement with the Fifth Pathway program, currently you'll likely face the same stigma of being a IMG. You'll likely have limited opportunity in matching in anything besides IM, FM, Psych, Gen Surg. Even though it's unfair, US programs prefer US medical school graduates and any halfway decent program will not even bother offering interviews to you which ultimately means you're stuck in the least desirable community programs in the least desirable areas.

So the question is how willing are you to put in all that effort to go through medical school only to have a poor chance in matching in low end programs if at all? Give the US and DO programs a good go and if it's still not working out then try UAG.

This school is bull ****. You are not allowed to review your exams. The anatomy lab closed and as result the anatomy professor quitted the school. Our cadavers looked like mummies. The schools steals money from students. You will never get a summarized bill and above all before school starts they will make you sign a document written in spanish that you are not allowed to sue them through the US courts. Most of the new professors ( b/c the good ones left ) are not even qualified to teach in a community college. They lied about rotations giving in the first year. I hate this place. I only took the MCAT once and only applied to TX medical schools. Do work hard in your MCAT and DO retake the MCAT ( use their practice tests sold by the AAMC). Forget kaplan or princenton. Your old college textbooks has plenty of info if you need to go back and re-read something you forgot. Once you enter a medical school. No other medical school will accept transfers until their 3rd year. BEWARE! Also, cigarette smoking is allowed everywhere on campus. Vey easy to get lung cancer here.
