This is probably correct. During the first two years, your required travel will be limited - it is possible to end up with preceptors off the hill, but the farthest I've heard of anyone having to travel is to Lake Oswego. Also, if you don't have a car, it's even less likely that you'll have to travel a long distance to reach your clinic.

However, if you don't have a car, you can purchase a TriMet pass for $330 for the entire year and it covers unlimited bus, streetcar, and Max rides. MUCH less than the $2,500. 🙂

Yeah. Well, I was thinking maybe I should wait till Monday (if mail was sent out on Thur from Oregon, it'd make it to Cali by sat or mon) before I called. If there's nothing in the mail tomorrow, I call. I've waited 8 weeks, I can wait a little longer 😛

Yeah actually I've been thinking that it is likely that they are sending you an acceptance letter, but its just taking some time to get to you. I hope this is the case...good luck!

I hope you're right...thanks!

There are 3 possibilities at this point: 1. they forgot about me (this is the most likely) 2. Acceptance (awesome, but unlikely) 3. Rejection (yeah...not fun)

Congrats!!! I'm actually really excited that an "OHSU c/o 2013" thread gets to exist in Allo now...I was starting to feel jealous that all of the other schools already had one...🙄

But anyway, congratulations again, you should go do something portland-ish to celebrate (playing in fountains, anyone?).

I was asking about being complete last night, and strangely enough I am finally complete today.

ditto. still in shock. must be a mistake! But no, the proof is on my fridge and they can't take it back now! I feel immeasurably grateful, and thanks to all for advice and encouragement! You'll all do great and get in where you're meant to go (you say, ya right, but you really will). Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to meeting the people behind the pictures next fall! 👍 🙂

correct me if im wrong, but i feel like ohsu is probably one of the slowest schools out there.

it took them a good month and a half to even send me a secondary, and they received my secondary about a month and a half ago. the only thing they were prompt about was cashing my check, which incidentally is the only way i know that they received my secondary.

so... does OHSU cashing your check mean that you'll be complete soon?
 
If it helps any, 'everything was sent' for me too, but when I called to check, they didn't have my letterls of recommendation. It turns out my advisor's office (out of state) sent them to Ohio State. Great. Anyhow, it might be worth checking on.

Also, I should have been complete around early November when i applied (MCAT scores came back mid-late October, everything was already in), then there was a question about my residency, I didn't get my "you're complete postcard" till January, I think, and I didn't hear about my interview invite until the end of January, so 2 1/2 months later. Hope this helps!

Last year, I had the same kind of "you should be complete, but not really" situation going on. Apparently my letters were sent to OHSU (and received), but they wouldn't consider me complete until someone from the office actually printed off hard copies of them...

So anyway, my check was cashed well before I was actually considered complete. If it really has been a long time, give them a call. Otherwise, as much as it sucks, you'll just have to wait it out. I have a theory about OHSU that your next notification from them (complete notice, interview invite, etc.) comes at the exact moment you have given up any hope of ever being accepted there. That's how it was for me, but at least it makes you really really happy when you actually do hear from them!
 
Is anyone else who interviewed in October still waiting for a decision? I interviewed mid-Oct. but haven't heard back anything. Since they seem to have sent out holds and acceptances, I am getting a sinking feeling I will be getting a rejection 🙁

I am waiting still. They even told me 4-6 weeks too...Stay Positive!
 
Ahhh I am trying to make it to my interview tomorrrow!!! My flight was at 12:50...delayed and now it's only leaving at 8 pm 🙁 I've never spent so much time in the airport in my life

Hope I see some of you tomorrow :xf:
 
I sent my secondary to OHSU in mid-September and my check was cashed soon after. However, I still have not received my "complete" email. I have called and left messages, but no response. Does anyone know the Ad. Office's email address or have any suggestions? I've looked all over their site, but was unable to find it.
 
Come on everybody...try to keep it civil.

ekirschn, which number have you been calling? Have you tried emailing? That definitely is taking too long.

I've been calling 503-494-2998. I would email, but was unable to locate an address. Do you know what it is?
