Omg that s so amazing
Happy for you. Did you apply to any scholarships or have you talked to them ?

Or I should say have you done all of your pre-enrollment tasks such as sending transcripts and background check?

Thank you!! I haven't done anything except for signing their acceptance letter. I have not sent my transcript and did not apply to any scholarships. The scholarship they gave me was for academic achievement and commitment to diversity.

Also curious about this

How does this work with the AAMC traffic guidelines that state that the school has to accept at least equal to the number of seats in their entering class? are there going to be a lot of decisions made this week then? Traffic Rules

Anyone been to an admitted students day yet? If so, how was it? 😊

Yes. I am OOS so getting to see the campus and the hospital in person was a lot of fun and definitely brought tears to my eyes as I had envisioned that day a million times before!
Kari was there to welcome us then everything was done by current students especially the student liaisons. We had Q&A which helped me a ton as I got many questions answered from housing to financial aid…Then they gave us a tour of the campus and the hospital and of course we took the air tram lol.
After that we gathered at a restaurant for food and drinks and some people left around 6 including myself and few others stayed.
It was a very friendly ice-breaking experience. It started around 12:15 and ended around 3:15 . Then we spent the rest of the time at that restaurant

Thanks so much for the detailed response!!!

See you in August! 😊

Does OHSU like/care for updates? interviewed late December and haven’t heard anything (almost at 14 weeks) and I’m wondering if an update would help.

Not yet! Also expecting it to just be loan options 😅

Can any current students here, preferably those into clinicals, comment on if/how the turmoil surrounding funding cuts and the potential legacy acquisition has effected your experience of the education and or school overall?

Per Kari, OHSU will accept updates to your file via email as long as the committee hasn't already met with your interviewer to discuss you. Once you've been discussed and your application has been assigned a final score, they don't take any further updates into consideration.

Bench more than bedside affected. OHSU already terminated quite a few hospital employees before the election.

The Legacy merger thus far has not had any impact on med student rotations, and I'm not sure that it will. Prior to any merger talks there were already rotations offered at Legacy and they're great places to get experience at. My rotation at a Legacy hospital was one of my favorites. I also haven't seen or heard of funding cuts impacting clinical rotations. As a pure MD student I can't speak to how funding cuts are impacting bench research or the PhD programs, but I would think they're still trying to figure that out given the relatively new changes.

I just sent them an update I have a full ride scholarship. I hope that helps if they have not met yet.

From which school of you don’t mind me asking?
Also, does this mean you prefer OHSU over the other school?

anyone have an updated offer list/acceptances list?
OHSU sends out admissions updates in an email to current students every two weeks. Because they just sent an update email at the end of last week, there won't be any new updates on admission stats until the end of next week.

How seriously do the AAMC traffic rules need to be followed. Since its March 15th there should be at minimum 150 As, but that seems like a pretty large jump from last weeks over 101.

Feel like I’m eating my words from earlier in the cycle about being pleased with OHSU’s transparency about their admissions process. I’m frustrated by the lack of communication post-interview and the fact that they have long past their projected post-interview wait time (they told us 8 weeks max; it has been over 13 weeks for me). At the very least, an email notifying me that my interviewer hasn’t been able to meet with the committee or just otherwise reassuring me that I haven’t been forgotten would go a long way to assuage my frustration. I’m fortunate to have some acceptances so this isn’t the be-all-end-all, but still irritating.

can anyone who has attended the admitted second look/campus tour that they offer speak on how we are expected to dress? besides for the weather obviously haha, is it business casual or more professional or is it more relaxed? i also could probably email them but wanted to ask here first.

It was pretty casual. You ll meet with current students not the faculty. Everyone had either jeans on or leggings or slacks with sweater . No need to dress up but if that’s your style, feel free to wear formal attire

do the md/mph acceptances come at a separate time than the md only ones?

congrats! did you by chance submit ur fafsa? 🙂

Hi, I’m around 15-16 weeks post interview and have yet to hear anything… I emailed and they said it’s interviewer dependent which I do get but I’m concerned something else could be wrong. After finishing your interviews, did the portal status show anything besides the mmi circuit scheduling date? I did complete all the interviews but that has been the status since.

Mine said my interview date as well (which is inaccurate in my case because it was changed). Maybe email and ask why it doesn’t also say the interview date?

That's what my portal said as well. It took a little over 12 weeks to hear back after my interview. Currently on hold and just waiting for any sign of life. It's unfortunate, but I think that's just the way it is

Howdy,

So I went back through October on this thread to gather the data. Of all the people who have posted, here's what I counted:

Acceptances
3 - OOS (No Oregon Heritage)
4 - IS
7 - Oregon Heritage
1 - Undetermined

That gives a grand total of 15 people out of the 102 acceptance we know have been given out so far. Try not to to forget what a small sample size SDN is, and best of luck to all of you hoping for an A!

The overwhelming amount of people from my OR college that matriculate at OHSU are not informed enough on premed resources to have found this forum. SDN users are part of a very small sample of the applicant pool and are a poor representation of the average OHSU matriculant.

I saw that accepted students get an email from admissions with updates weekly after they meet - does that email include the number of acceptances/is that how we’re aware of the 102 number? Thank you for all your info and help this cycle!!

Howdy,

Yeah, that is more or less what I was hoping folks would take away from the numbers I listed. That SDN/Reddit/Social Media are a small sample size to try to extrapolate from.

the people posting the # of acceptances are current students. They get that update in an email that is roughly bi-weekly as far as I can tell. We should get another update by Friday.

Hey there!

So one of the current students last listed 101 acceptances from the email. Then if you go back through this thread, someone posted an OOS (Oregon Heritage) acceptance from about a week ago, which brings the known number using data from this thread up to 102.

I'm starting this August, so I don't have access to the emails, but I manually counted state residency after going through posts on this forum based on what people reported (IS, OOS, Oregon Heritage, etc.)

Anyone else get any scholarships or hear anything about their financial aid packet? I see that my FAFSA has been accepted by the school but still no package yet

Are we allowed to wear any color scrubs? figs has a sale and I was wondering!
