how long until you receive this application? man! i was verified in late july and i still havent received this one.

does everyone get the supplemental application? i got it last week. i am a sc resident.

YES, but keep in mind every one of these apps were OOS (although a few from neighboring states, apparently that doesn't help). I wouldn't even bother applying to SC from OOS, but I'm hoping being a state resident will help.

i have a question about the 2ndary application for usc-columbia. do we have to use their evaluation form? because my evaluators have written their recommendations in a regular paper format.

No, you don't have to use the evaluation form. It's a guide/suggestion for what letter writers can write about. That's according to the admissions office when I asked. I sent my letters (written months ago) with no issues.

haha apparently USC is kicking our butt at the football game right now...

what's the chance of being admitted after the interview at usc. i have a pretty good mcat and gpa. as well as much volunteer, shadow, and research experience.

you got the 2ndary and you are from Utah? did you just move to SC?

nope. im OOS and with no ties. i know its a LOOOOOOOOOOONG shot, but what the heck? why not? i love the south.

does anyone know how long it takes to hear about an interview after the application is complete. any M-1 or M-2 students care to share?

do you mind sharing your stats? or maybe looking at my profile and responding as similar or not similar? thanks

you're rocking me on my MCAT thats for sure- i have a 27N- PS 9/VR 7/BS 11 and my GPA is 3.85.
seriously though i have a lot of volunteer, shadowing, research, and leadership stuff . plus im really dedicated to the underserved/low income people. so im not too worried about my low MCAT score. i think with my PS and EC's that i should get in somewhere: probably not south carolina since i dont have strong ties but whatever i can say i tried. 😀

I received an interview invite for November. They only interview Wednesdays. Though it is a whole day affair, the interviews are only held in the afternoon, I think.

Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, when was your application complete? Did you get an e-mail, standard mail, or phone call for the interview invite?

Still waiting...submitted MUSC a week ago. Still not a peep from USC. I'm instate too....????

I received an e-mail from them. Though I'm OOS, I have very strong ties to USC-SOM.

Do you mind telling when was your app. complete or when did you sent it? Also, giving your stats would be helpful. You can see mine at the bottom of my post.

My LORs went in mid-late August and I have a 4.0/30 and a lot of research and volunteer (both clinical and non-clinical) experience.

I'm sure yours is on the way too!

Does anyone know how many people receive interviews at USC and from that what is the acceptance rate? Maybe someone with a MSAR can answer. I want to know because i just received an interview invite.

last year 237 interviewed and 116 accepted for instate. 68 of those enrolled. i think they have like 15-20 oos spots

So I interviewed wednesday at USC SOM. Anyone else interview? Anyone else hear if they got in or not?

ive heard from an applicant last year that you hear within a few days after your interview

btw, congrats for the interview...howd it go and what u think

So, here we are a month and a half after verification and....still no secondary request. Should I call and ask, or just wait it out? I have only not heard from here and University of Tennessee.

Verified with AMCAS a month ago and complete at MUSC but still no secondary from USC. Should I break down and call/email? I hate to be pushy but it doesn't look like they just accept secondaries without invitations.
L.

Are you guys in-state? I was under the impression that they gave automatic secondaries to everyone that applied, especially those who are in-state. I know that if you go to USC for undergrad that you get an automatic interview invite before you even complete your secondary if your numbers are decent. I go to USC for undergrad and our pre-med advisor said that both SC schools give automatic secondaries to everyone.

Yup, instate, in Sumter. SC resident 2.5 years. Maybe I should just call somebody. 😕 the funny thing is my supervising doc is alum and thinks he can just call somebody up and guarantee me admission 🙄 which I think sounds lofty and not the way I want to get in.

I interviewed on 10/1. did not hear anything yet. They said in about 2 weeks and the 15th will be two weeks exactly

Just received the secondary today. I was just about to call and ask for it...saved me the trouble.
🙄

Today ACCEPTED to USC SOM (Columbia, SC)!!!!!!!!!!!😀🙂👍😎

i just got the secondary and am having trouble getting the pdf to allow me to type my answers on the form. did everyone else have this problem, or is it just me? If the latter, any help would be appreciated

nice, great job! was it your top choice?

btw, i have my interview coming up in a few weeks; any advice on that would be appreciated

wow great job!! I thought tomorrow was the first day they were letting people know...How did you find out, did they call or email? I think I interviewed the same day as you so I am waiting to hear too.

Yes! It was my top choice so i'm really excited. The atmosphere at USC SOM is unlike any of the other schools that i've been to. It really feels like a family.

They called me yesterday afternoon, what a day.

sorry to double post, and I know I'm very late with this, but does anyone have any advice about typing into the secondary pdf? tia 🙂

same here got accepted this morning. Big relief! I have three more interviews but I can go into them knowing I have an acceptance!😀

Having an absolutely terrible time typing into the PDF as well. Just wrote out all of my answers longhand...it is legible. What do you all think, should I send it handwritten? Seems old-fashioned....🙄

I sent mine in hand-written as neatly as I could.

Of those of you who have interviews, are any of you OOS?

I highlighted the text from the PDF and pasted it into a Word document. Then I typed my responses with the underline feature on. You can't even tell I did that. 🙂

Ah, very good idea, thanks for sharing.
My husband took 2x2 pics of me last night for this and my OHSU app. Not even bad pics. Neato.
