I would also like to know what INS means. And I hope UC sends the invites soon! Feb 26 is so close and airfare gets more expensive as it gets closer.![]()

So I'm going to throw my 2 cents in here since I think this is somewhat inaccurate information. So I'm currently a senior at my undergrad, having gotten 3 years research experience, the last year and half being relevant to my interests. I'm currently applying, have received 6 interview invites(to highly respected research programs, e.g. Duke). I say this not to brag, but to clarify for those who are in undergrad and want to apply straight from undergrad that it can be done. I think this forum often portrays it as very difficult, I know I was intimidated and considered postponing it because I worried it would be impossible to get in right from undergrad. I'm glad now that I didn't wait, because I've gotten very positive feedback. Waiting can be good for a lot of people to help them become competitive and for other personal reasons. However, if you work hard and focus on quality research, its certainly possible to be considered at highly competitive programs straight from undergrad.
Just to provide the other perspective on the issue...

Agreed! I am coming out of my undergrad career with 3 yrs research experience (2 in my field of interest) and I, so far and its still early, have gotten 3 interview invites at some top 20 schools. Granted I also got a Stats minor and Cog. Sciences minor which sorta helps, but really, it is TOTALLY POSSIBLE to get into a top notch program out of undergrad. It comes down to match and making sure you are competitive, prepared, and realistic. Someone I look up to in the field told me that I had to get LOTS of books - so I did, and it really helps you know how competitive you are and what your chances can be if you work the grad application system the right way. Best of luck!

I've seen on the list that a few schools do both - do they generally use the phone interviews as a screener for their formal invites? Or do people sometimes get an invitation to an in-person interview without having had a phone interview? Just curious... 🙂
What kind of books are you referring to? "how to get into grad school" books?

received my waitlist for depaul today. more than likely= rejection but way easier to read than a rejection letter 🙂
Received an interview invite today to SPU by email. I believe it was a mass email, but not positive 😀

Received an invite to LSU today, which was a total surprise! I had counted myself out considering several people had already heard from them in the past couple of weeks. Just goes to show that you shouldn't count yourself out too quickly 🙂
I was also waitlisted by DePaul today. I'm beginning to think that they are telling everyone who did not get an interview that they are on the waitlist. Does anyone know if they have sent out any rejections or is this a VERY big waitlist?
Does anyone know anything about University of Houston / University of Cincinnati?
Can anyone verify whether the University of Florida interviews were that of the Clinical and Health Psychology department or the social/developmental/experimental department?

Same here. Boooooo!
My hopes are hanging on my a thread... if you received a phone interview invite, could you let me know your POI? Thank you!
Got an invite via phone for an interview at UMass today!!! I thought that ship had sailed. woohoo
anybody's University of Illinois - Chicago application status say something different than Pending - Manual Review Req?
+1mine says the same
After e-mailing various graduate secretaries, I was informed that University of Denver- Child Clinical PhD, Vanderbilt-Clinical PhD, and UPenn- Clinical have already sent out all of their interview invitations. The e-mail from UPenn did mention the existence of a waiting list. Not sure if this was posted yet.
So I didn't get any NW - Feinberg calls yesterday or today...am I pretty much out of the running?! 🙁
