Anyone more adept in SDN interested in creating a C/O 2015 thread and/or facebook page for Stony Brook?

yes please make one I have been waiting to see if one is up... does anyone know when the seond look is?
Got wait-listed today 🙁((((((((((((.. I really wanted to move to NYC
so im interviewing...and hopefully it's not just for a waitlist spot 😕..but i was wondering if anyone that interviewed already had any advice..would be greatly appreciated it
Honestly just stay relaxed on the interview. Both of mine were just conversations, they just wanted to get to know me better. Just make sure you are prepared to talk about things you put on your application because they will probably come up. Everyone is so nice there, and really helpful so dont be nervous. Good luck!
I hope it was cross country! 😛
Has anyone heard anything recently, i.e. acceptances, waitlists, rejections?
Either way I'm on the WL and would freaking love to go here and be able to stay in my home NYC
That seems to be the case based on SDN but this isn't a representative sample. So I heard that most students are waitlisted here after the interview...can any of you confirm this?

And commuting from nyc is a bad idea. My interviewer told me some students commute from Queens, but even that is not a good idea.
I think the previous poster meant something more along the lines of 70%+ getting waitlisted. SDN is a biased sample where applicants rarely post rejections and under-report waitlists. Even so for SB, it seems the vast majority on SDN was waitlisted, which makes you wonder if they hadn't given out too many acceptances.well 50% are accepted after interview including those that come off the waitlist so if you do the math then yes *most* will be waitlisted after interview since it seems that outright rejections post-interview are rare
i hope you're not planning on commuting from NYC if you get in because that's a horrible idea.
So far, according to them, they have given about 175 of about 350 acceptances. Each class is usually comprised of 15 to 20 percent of people that matriculate are from the waitlist for a class of 124 (20-25 from the waitlist).
These are all rough numbers, but probably a good estimate. They didn't really say how many people are initially put on the waitlist though. For some reason though I want to say they said 10% of the waitlist usually is accepted later which would mean 200-250 people on the waitlist (about a third of interviewees).
This really doesn't mean much, but if you like stressing over numbers, there you have it.
