Rejection here this morning.
LOR request 7/6
Never got an LOR received confirmation.

Mayo was my top choice, so this was quite disappointing. Good luck to everyone else!

I am so sorry to hear this! I received LOR request on the same day. No II nor rejection. Perhaps on the waitlist of interview... Well, torture remains. Good luck to all your other applications!

I'm in the same boat. Keeping my fingers crossed, but at this point I kinda just want the crazy Mayo emotional roller coaster to stop one way or another. Waking up in the morning and having a mild heart attack when I open gmail and see that I have unread messages in my inbox is unpleasant (this morning I freaked out about a Groupon...)

+1, I feel like my rejection is swiftly approaching...but it's okay - I have an awesome youtube video to post when it does.

I have the same feeling (interview invitations extended first...now comes the rejections.) At the same time, I try to maintain a glimmer of hope.

Has anyone from the 7/9 LOR request group heard anything? I got the LOR Received email on 8/2 and I was wondering if any of the other people who got LOR request emails on 7/9 had heard back regarding rejections/interviews?
 
I still haven't heard anything. I am from the 7/5 LOR group. Kind of expecting a rejection now.

Thanks 🙂 I just get anxious because i haven't received any interviews yet and i feel like everyone around me is getting invites!

Oh my goodness I know the feeling. Reading through the threads of schools I've applied to and seeing everyone get interviews is killing my morale right now.
 
Rejected last night pre-LOR request. Kind of glad, though, because now I don't have to deal with the suffocating neurosis of everybody in this thread. 🙂

I like that we all share the same neurosis, it fosters a feeling of community.

Whatever makes you feel better! Just seems like obsessing over things you have absolutely no control over (interview invites, etc.) would be exhausting.

Congrats to everyone who got an interview and good luck to everyone else still in the running!

That's why I like this thread more than any of the others. It's rather fun and stress-reducing to talk about how anxious we are, because everyone feels the same way and we're in this together, all on the same wavelength. I truly wish that we could all get accepted, because I'd like to spend the next four years of my life with people this fun and amusing.

Yup. Hopefully a side that will go away for a long time, if not forever, when this is all said and done.

I'm from the 7/1 LOR crowd.
I called a few days ago and they said there was still hope for us lot who still haven't heard anything.

When you say you've been staying up waiting, do you mean you stay awake until 3 a.m. anyways? or you don't sleep until after 3 just because of Mayo? Just curious.

LOR request 7/1, but my school didn't write/submit the committee letter until a few days ago 🙁. I wish I knew if mayo has received the letters (/wish that the committee letter hadn't taken so long to send!!)
 
I wish they would just reject me already. Stop giving me false hope!!!! 😀
 
Well. I had a dream last night that I had woken up at 4 am to find an interview invite from mayo. Double-checked in the morning just to make sure. I got very excited when I had one unread email...

I hate Groupon. 😡

I feel like I am now required to join this group of neurotic mayo enthusiasts.

In creeping on your MDapps, I feel like our applications have a lot in common. Hopefully that means good news soon, haha. :xf:
 
i had a dream last night too, but it was about donuts i'm pretty sure. i think i had to use all my will to restrain myself from eating the one donut until i had delivered the other one to my dad. this quality of self control will contribute positively to my role as a future phsycian 🙂

seriously though the concept of dreaming does crack me up.

The way to get over your email panic is to just subscribe to a whole lot of email services. You'll soon get used to a new message in your inbox and begin to assume that all the new emails are non medically related.
 
D'oh! No prompt. I really wanted to explain why I wanted to do their humanities in medicine program.

Oh well, I guess they will just have to base it off of my awesome primary.

I received a LOR request confirmation email last Monday. Hopefully they aren't lying about hearing something within 3 weeks.

i received a LOR request on 7/1 and it's been radio silence since then.

much preferred to an outright rejection for now, though--so i'm not complaining
 
some of us should hear something tomorrow night/tuesday early am...
