Rejected.

LOR request 7/5, rejection email 8/7 11:33 pm.

Good luck to those of you still in the running! I am going to unsubscribe from this monstrous thread now. 🙂

Sorry to hear it guys. Best of luck to you for the rest of the cycle!

I was verified on 7/21 and haven't heard a peep from Mayo - I've got decent numbers (3.8/37) so I assume I should have passed the preliminary screen for a fee request. Am I being paranoid or should I consider contacting the admissions office?

don't contact the office. they'll email you if they want to request LORs...not everyone gets an LOR and it's not numbers based but based rather on ECs. People with great numbers haven't gotten LOR requests while "average" stats have. Take a look back and you'll notice that most of us who were complete early (prior to mid July) took 1-2 weeks to hear back from them after our "fee received email." good luck!

I haven't even received a fee request though; that has me worried.

I wouldn't see a problem calling about the fee. The "secondary" goes out to everyone. Although most places are starting to get backed up with applicants, so that could be the reason you have not heard anything.

LOR request 7/1 and still nothing. Happy I haven't gotten rejected yet, but super nervous.

There are amazingly qualified people getting rejected from this place after they sent them a LOR request. I'm sorry to hear it guys. Good luck to everyone!

I apparently can't read...I'm sorry for misinterpreting your "fee request" as "lor request." my fee request took about a week to come through. See if you get that infamous 2am email tonight...if not, I'd consider calling to be sure they actually got your primary. I know some schools didn't get some primaries on random dates (thank you amcas). Again, I apologize for my hasty reply.

No problem... thanks for taking the time to reply.

+1. Alas, guess it just wasn't meant to be. Good luck to everyone else, both with Mayo and elsewhere! :luck:

Sorry to hear that! Will you tell me the secret to your username? Is it the known mass of the universe? I can't remember ever studying a number/constant with such a high value.

A superhero never reveals his secret identity 😉 I will say that it's not scientific in nature (I actually never thought of that until you mentioned it!)

Is it related to computers?

Nope. Also something I'm surprised by (I guess it's a matter of perspectives). The answer will definitely underwhelm 🙂 PM me if you really, really want to know.

another night passes with no word from Mayo. Also, what is this interview waitlist you speak of?

According to my experiences from last cycle, it is very likely that Mayo (and many others) has a waitlist for interviewing. They don't reject you right away, but wait to see if your qualifications are strong enough to be placed in an interview in future months. If no, then they will send out the rejection letter. (My speculations! Don't take my word for it.)

Or another explanation for why we heard nothing so far could be that those who have been offered interviews are stellar applicants. The rest of us who haven't got rejected yet are deemed mediocre. And Mayo is just testing our patience.

I've been complete for two weeks now and no LOR request yet. I guess I'm in for a rejection...

Interviews haven't even started yet. It's far too early to give up hope, and you aren't rejected until you get the email.

Well, I'm only being realistic. Most people got LOR requests a couple days after they submitted the fee.

No, I don't think most people did. Plus, you're later in the cycle, so there are probably more applications to filter through.
