I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find solid specifics on the new curriculum for the upcoming year. I looked at my interview day packet and online, but there is just the general flowchart and not too much specifics. I know that the process is ongoing, but can anyone shed some light on this? I imagine they would have it ready for second-look weekend...

Accepted via email yesterday afternoon! I interviewed back in the middle of January and loved the school. I can't wait to go back for second look weekend. :luck: to everyone waiting to hear

Congrats.😀 I interviewed in early January and haven't heard back. I hope this doesn't mean I'm rejected or deferred. 🙁

I don't know if this will help, but I found a ppt that goes into a little more detail about the curriculum renewal. http://www.feinberg.northwestern.edu/AWOME/curriculum-renewal/index.html
Download the ppt that's under the heading Curriculum Renewal Student Info Session: May 2, 2011 and see if that gives you a little more of the info that you're looking for... hope it helps

Thanks so much mg08. That definitely helps me a bit. I imagine they are still finalizing some parts of it so I'll wait till second look for more.

Rejected today! Complete months and months ago. The email was quite nicely worded, though.

Interviewing tomorrow. Anyone else going to be there?

How did your interview go??
I have my interview tomorrow!! Any tips? The group interview seems pretty weird, anyone have any insight or good advice?!?

Is there a FB group yet for c/o 2016?

It's not bad at all. Pay attention to the responses of your fellow interviewees so you can add to what they say. For example, on my day we were asked why northwestern. I went second. The guy who went first had a great response. I mentioned his name and reiterated a couple of his points and added on. Look interested when others are talking.

Hi! Good luck today! It wasn't bad, just try and relax and use it as an opportunity to get to know the other people in your interview group.

no, there is no facebook group! you should make it!

Good luck! Im hoping to hear within the next month as well!

Has anyone who's sent in an update letter (or anything at all) hear back from the admissions office saying they received it? Or are we supposed to assume it made its way to their inbox and is getting read?

I sent them some updates and they sent me an email back saying the received them the next day.

Do people know when deferred candidates should expect to be given a final decision (accept/waitlist/reject)? Is it also March 1st?

Cheers!

Does anyone remember if there was a portion on the secondary that gave us the option of updating? Specifically, any section that asked about shadowing/clinical experience?

Ah ok, good to know. Thanks!

Yes. Well, some time in March. It seems that last year, or was it 2 years ago(?), that notifications came in waves... March 1st, everyone who was accepted after a deferral heard back. A few days later, the waitlisted people, and another few days later, the rejected people... if I'm remembering correctly, that is!

I don't think I was ever able to access my secondary again after submission. When I was deferred after an interview, I was just given a generic admissions email to send in any updates.

good luck to the rest of you interviewing/interviewed at FSM!

i interviewed jan 18 and got an acceptance email afternoon of jan 31, crazy fast turn around, was not expecting that.

tip regarding panel interview: it's really low stress, and the interviewers are experienced and very nice people. you'll do well if you play nice with the two other applicants in your group, listen to them during the individual questions part, and try to reference their background during the group activity. i got lucky with two easy-going applicants for my panel...good luck to you too.

Ahh noo! Heh congrats though..

At this point, I'm kind of hoping that NW either accepts/rejects me rather than waitlist come March. This waiting game really leaves you in the dark. Here's to hoping that the accepted ppl will defer and go to the other higher ranked schools :luck:

Good luck guys, I know the waiting game is really hard. I'm a 4th-year and really feel I couldn't have received a better med school experience. You can go anywhere from here. I've interviewed at the very top programs in my desired specialty and am absolutely thrilled.

Good luck! It was nice to meet some of you on interviews days. If you have any questions PM me. I will try to reply as time permits.

Anyone who has been accepted receive anything more than the confirmation of acceptance email?Any communication in the mail? I moved at the beginning of December and updated them with the new info, but I just want to make sure I am up to date with everything going on.

Good luck to those still waiting! I am sure I will meet many of you at the second look weekend.

I haven't received any communication from them since my acceptance - at least not anything memorable. Have they set a 2nd look date yet?

Has anyone who interviewed in January been rejected? I'm curious to know if they are waiting until march when they let everyone know their final decision.

Thanks for the response!
I have not heard anything about second look, but I think it is in April... although on this thread someone said they have not set an actual date yet. Perhaps after the acceptances in March go out we will hear something definitive.

Hey all,

I don't know if I need any kind of authority to start a facebook group, but I'm doing it anyway. Hopefully the link works, it's been awhile since I've set up a facebook group. I guess we'll find out. Welcome Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine 2016! Booya.

interviewed jan 11 and haven't heard back a word yet .... fingers crossed....!!

Does anyone know if it's too late at this point to send an update letter, since it's already mid-feb? (i was just thinking of sending one after if i get waitlisted)

Just got an email about Second Look! Woooooo!

Accepted on 2/12! So excited! I didn't think my interview had gone so well, so I wasn't expecting this. Best of luck to those still waiting!

When did you interviewed??

What's Second Look?..

April 12th and 13th. Second Look is an opportunity to learn more about the school, life at Feinberg, etc. It's for accepted students.

I don't think its too late. I just sent one in. I figure right now they're starting to make their decisions on deferred people (which I am. Interviewed in late Sept - the wait's been ridiculously hard). You'll be fresh in their mind or bring their attention back to your application. The worst it can be is them saying "oh, this dude? We decided to reject him a while ago" - unless of course, you write a truly asinine update letter. Which is pretty hard.

So I interviewed 1/20 and was wondering of anyone who interviewed at or around that date had a better idea of when we should be hearing?

interviewed on Jan 11 and heard Dr. Wallace say March....But apparently some people on the forum who interviewed around that time have already got acceptances...so I don't know.

I interviewed on Jan 18th. They also told us we probably wouldn't hear back till march. Good luck!
