I just wanted to update: I was accepted to University of Rochester through the EAP program recently, and am definitely coming here in two years!!!! Good luck everyone, I hope the majority of you hear awesome possum news, Rochester is a freaking amazing place and you'll all do ridiculously no matter where you get in/interview!

P.S. Sorry if this is totally inappropriate, mods: feel free to delete/modify if need be. I just couldn't contain myself any longer, I'm too excited about Rochester >.<

P.P.S. It was through EAP, which is not the AMCAS process, so no freaking out until October 15th, haha 😀
 
Congrats! Just to mirror some of the other concerns, I have been complete since 7/19 and have not heard anything yet. Hopefully we will all hear something, positive, soon :xf:.
 
Based on other threads, I get the impression Rochester, like many schools, is infamous for dragging everyone along until next year when they send out rejection letters.

...although I hope I'm wrong because I'm still waiting too!

Highland Hospital is a member of the University of Rochester Medical Center system, and is where the family medicine program admits, and where surgery, medicine, neurology, and Ob-gyn residents rotate. Many medical students rotate there for 3rd year clerkships (some spend a lot of time there).

i dont get why its still so quiet at this point, in 5 days schools are gonna start releasing acceptances...is it me or does this year seem like a fairly slow cycle?

very funny. question is how long does rochester typically take to offer interviews. are they slow/fast, i know i'm real behind so what are the chances of me still getting an interview offer. Just like everyone else, I'm nervous and trying to gauge where i *might* stand

Thanks for the explanation regarding the nasty responses (that's an honest thank you, not being facetious in the least). New here, I hadd seen common posts, my intention was never to throw stats in anyone's face. I am just as anxious and nervous as everyone else is and I am also looking to garner as much info as possible. The whole being new here thing? Means I really do not know where I do stand this late in the game, I am very much not confident that I am in a good place or I wouldn't have asked the question. Best of luck everyone.

I meant no offense, but none of us can truly guess whether or not you should "get" and interview, especially because others, myself included, have been waiting since mid August. Was just trying to keep it light hearted 🙂 Good luck to you though, it's definitely NOT too late to submit.
 
how/when are decisions start to get released?
 
it looks like that people were called/e-mailed acceptances on the first business day post-Oct 15 - so, following that pattern, possibly Monday.
 
anybody having techincal issues trying to fill out this app? it won't let me check any boxes

Those of you with acceptances, did your status page change at all? I'm sorry my email is filtering schools out again and it has always hated rochester's emails for some reason. 🙂

Yep, you get time off! I made it home both years, and I'm not from anywhere around here. If I'm remembering correctly, at least in 1st year, you only have stuff in the morning on Wednesday, and then you get Thursday and Friday off. Some people didn't even have to come in on Wednesday because we talked our PBL leader into doing our session early and they finished their anatomy lab early. I believe 2nd year was similar. 3rd year you also have a couple days off... how many depends on what clerkship you're on.

Was accepted yesterday via email as well!!!

I didn't see a status change on the website. But the one thing I did notice/a good way you could check would be to look under "App Status" tab, under "Communication Status" where it has all the emails they've sent you in the past. For me, the last one is "Email Detail-Acceptance". Hope that helps!

has rochester sent invites to anyone complete after early-mid august? i'm anxiously waiting to hear back...

I interviewed 9/26. But I know others who interviewed the same day as me heard earlier so it seems like there are batches.

And I received a phone call, no email notification, so I guess they're mixing that up as well.

That actually makes me feel quite a bit more comfortable. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I can make it to the next committee date without getting wait listed!
