In this section, we ask each applicant to describe his or her unique qualifications for a career in medicine, particularly at the UC Davis School of Medicine. Instructions: Please click on Essay Questions tab and complete the four essay questions.
1. Discuss any elements of your application that you feel might be concerning to the Admissions Committee. (500 Character Limit)
2. How will your family, community, academic, work or other life experiences enhance the UC Davis School of Medicine community? (500 Character Limit)
3. Based upon your personal life experiences, what do you foresee as challenges in medical school and in your future career? (500 Character Limit)

B. Experiences:
At UC Davis School of Medicine we realize that each applicant brings diversity and perspective from a broad range of experiences. In this section we give you the opportunity to describe in detail the 3 extracurricular activities or experiences that have been most influential in leading you to a career in medicine.
Instructions complete the following steps for each experience:
Select the type of experience and indicate paid or volunteer
Title your experience
Indicate the level of commitment (total hours and duration)
List a relevant reference and their contact information
Indicate any evidence of accomplishment or supporting documentation
Briefly describe the significance of this experience and how it enhances your potential as a physician
C. Rural PRIME, SJV PRIME, TEACH-MS or Physician Scientist Training Program:
In addition to applying for the M.D. program, applicants have the option to apply for Rural PRIME, SJV PRIME, TEACH-MS or Physician Scientist Training Program. Please indicate your interest in either of the programs and another tab will appear on the blue bar. You will need to complete the required information for the appropriate program. Please note that M.D. only applicants do not need to complete part C of the supplemental information.
5. The Rural-Program In Medical Education is designed for students interested in becoming physician leaders in rural California communities. Curricular enhancements include weekly seminars, hands-on skill sessions covering laceration repair, obstetric delivery, CPR, etc., mentorship with rural physicians, 3rd year rural clinical rotations and leadership opportunities related to rural health.
