No, I don't think so...it's just from December then February then a waitlist is formed in march I think..however, greenville, unlike some schools will never offer more than 53 acceptances, so being on the waitlist is not the end of the world..

Thanks for clarifying 🙂

Well, its getting to be about "mid-February".... Any thoughts on another round of acceptances?

I think it might be closer to end of Feb.. i talked to admissions last week and it seems like they still haven't figured out an exact meeting date but it should be during the third or fourth week of this month.

sorry that doesn't really clear it up much but maybe someone else has some newer info.

UGH! I was hoping it would be this week 🙁. It's frustrating not even knowing when...

Yep, E-mailed them and they said an acceptance round is coming this week, then in the end of march.
Apparently, recent interviewees received a "still pending" email this morning. I still hope they'll send out acceptances later today or tomorrow...if they already haven't done so.

Anyone receive an acceptance? or know anyone who did?

Shaft meaning rejection or continuing to be evaluated?

I got the continuing to be evaluated email this morning soon after I posted that... :/

Alright, quietest thread ever... last acceptances go out this week, right? I've practically given up hope at this point, though...

Yup, last acceptances should go out this week - the remaining should hear either a waitlist or rejection decision as well.

I'll be withdrawing my acceptance here, so hopefully that bumps one of you all up! Also, scholarships were given out last week too, so mine should be up for grabs.

Any ideas what time it will be or if its already gone out? Hard to count down without knowing when....

I'm guessing if you get the call, it will be sometime this afternoon (if I remember correctly from the interview day).

So no one has heard here?
My daughter is waiting too...
Good luck to all of you!:luck:

Well, I've heard nothing. So, I'm pretty much chalking that up to a rejection.

I don't think anyone has heard anything yet. I'm sure they're just making the wait list so that's taking up some time. Hopefully we will hear something today or tomorrow by the latest

What if we don't hear anything today because its April Fools day and they don't want us being confused or thinking its a joke

I'm glad I wasn't alone in worrying about not hearing anything. I know Dr. Catalana said it would be a few weeks, but still, the anticipation is nerve wracking.

Sorry to tell this to you all, but AAMC Traffic Regulation for Adcoms #4:

4. By March 30 of the matriculation year, March 15 for M.D.-Ph.D. programs, each school or program have issued a number of offers of acceptance at least equal to the expected number of students in its first-year entering class and have reported those acceptance actions to the AAMC Section for Medical School Application Services.

Was about to post the same thing. It is my understanding they have had the ~55 spots filled since December/January. Best of luck to those on the waitlist!

According to last year's thread, some rejections are made but it seems like most were initially placed on the alternate list. Toward the end of the cycle they sent out additional rejections to make the alternate shorter.

Also, I believe it is possible to contact them and find out what quartile you are in.

That would be interesting to know... should we contact admissions for that info? Or Dr. Catalana?

To be honest, I don't know what's best - in the past I've spoken with both the admissions office and Dr. Catalana.
I've emailed with Dr. Catalana, and he is quick to respond and helpful. I'll probably try that. I just don't want to bother if they normally don't give that information out, but I guess it wouldn't hurt. Thanks!

Got an alternate/waiting list e-mail.

Apparently I'm in the middle third (they divide it in thirds) for the waitlist. They accepted 20 people off of the waitlist last year.

Any idea how many people they put on the waitlist??
