I looked for a thread like this and didn't find one. I thought we could use this to give each other advice.

Please post your Qbank averages, practice exam scores and your score on the real deal.

I did the same as you except took it 7/23 instead for the second half. My score wasn't amazing but I can live with it. You should get a recheck if you think it may help it's $50 according to the nbome site.

I'm just wondering if my test got lost somewhere. My score makes sense if they only counted the 226 questions I got to the first time. Big issue is I rescheduled my test to the 26, I was originally scheduled for the 19th I think. Do you know of anyone who took their test on the 26 and has scores that make sense? Or for that matter, anyone who took the test on the 26 who has scores?

Used uworld, combank, DIT, secrets (the weekend before my exam) and savaresse and got 686. Step 1 was 604. Here is my breakdown:
Started DIT about 5 weeks prior to my exam. I finished that in 16 days then hit uworld hard. Did 3 blocks of 44qs daily with full review and annotation into step up. About 2.5 weeks before my test date, I started combank. I finished combank in 1.5 weeks. The last week, I combined uworld and savaresse (about 2 hours each night). The weekend before I used secrets. I took a comsae 16 days before and scored just under 500.

I would say take this exam when you have a super easy rotation. My schedule was ~7-10 am for that whole month. If you can't manage that, just take some time off. It's worth it if you're applying DO. Study the **** out of OMM-- I had so many OMM/OPP qs. Use uworld and a comlex qbank. There is no match for uworld! I didn't think combank was bad! Secrets was okay but I don't think it gave me any new info. It was nice to flip through it the weekend before. DIT was nice for the schedule it kept me on!

I had a lot of qs on my exam about ethics/medico legal/Medicare issues. I guess I'm not too sure if I could have better prepared for those...

Overall, I walked out not knowing how I did. So glad it's done!

Sorry forgot this:
Uworld avg: 66%
Combank: 74%

Also, I think 5 weeks was too long... The last week I was so burned out that I felt like I wasn't retaining much.

I posted a ways back wondering if I was going to pass since my exam was a pure wtf session. (Took July 17.)

I ended up with a 634 and I studied no omm whatsoever.

Glad it's over with.

No he's mocking the fact that many posters on here give their scores of 650, 680, 700+, etc. and then say "I guess I'm happy; it'll do."

People want what people want. I don't hate anybody for being disappointed with a score. It's all about doing the best you can and being satisfied with what you've done, or wishing you had done better (even if you hit 700). To each his/her own.

I figured as much..I'm just waiting for someone to drop the 800 bomb this cycle haha.

Someone I know in my class got pretty darn close

I wasn't part of the two test day fiasco, but I took mine 6/23 and my score is really low, barely passing. I almost want to have it rechecked, but part of me is scared that they would return a no pass score the second time, ha. What a disappointment.

Just wondering if there are more of you that were really surprised by a very low score. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws, but it would be good to know if there are more of us out there that feel that something really wrong happened so we can do something about it.

i took mine 7/16 and my score was depressingly low as well....will probably pay for recheck

Where are you guys accessing the option to pay for a recheck? I'm considering doing it as I dropped a significant amount from level 1, had decently above average scores on all NBME shelves, and scored roughly the same as on my COMSAE from 5 weeks prior before doing any studying or q banks. Pretty sure that is the score I got, but it may be worth the $50.

Anyone take the test 7/23 and have a much worse score than expected? I know of myself and 3 others in my class who took it that same day, and all of us dropped over 80 pts. All four of us prepared as well as possible for this ****show that is COMLEX, and we all walked out feeling confident. All of us did well on step 1. High five hundreds-low six hundreds to high fours-low fives for all of us. I realize these are average scores, but if we're shooting for competitive specialties this is a big deal. Don't know if its worth the regrade? Just too much of a coincidence in my opinion.

All these posts about scoring worse than Step 1 are freaking me out.

I'd have some faith. I mean, I thought my exam was absolutely awful and was prepared for the worst...and I still ended up > 600. That said, COMLEX scoring is notoriously random and I guess anything could happen.

did all the people with lower than expected scores take a COMSAE or just compared with step 1? The exams are very different so I can see how scored could vary widely from one to the next. The first is obviously more facts and the second more clinical/subjective. I actually felt good coming out of it. I only scored 457 on COMSAE B two days before. I'm not a good test taker. I just hope I did not fail.

Took the test July 16;
-Combank first pass through random = 72%
-Comsae B 1 week before the test 635
Had no trouble sleeping the night before, felt very good about the exam, Comlex 2 score = 410.
There is absolutely no way that this is my score, I've sent in for a rescore, this is just not possible. I'm sure the re-score will come back unchanged and I'll have to explain my enormous drop from step 1 to step 2 (>180 pts). I find it very hard to believe that something didn't go wrong, I had probably 3 ethics questions that I knew simply because I skimmed that section the night before, can't believe I would've failed had I not done that...

I would pay $5000 to be able to physically see my test and the number of questions I got wrong, it really is just not possible, I know I'm sounding dramatic but I put a lot work into this and it really is messing with my plans. I would've been shocked had my score been 550, but 410, no way. Felt no different than the comsae I took, yet I scored 225 pts lower?

My score went up a good chunk on Step 2. However, I had a similar situation with my Comsaes. One Comsae was fairly (within 15 points) close to my actual Step 2 score. Another Comsae over-predicted my score by about 100 points. I also had a very similar Combank percentage to you, but my Step 2 score was very different. I can definitely understand your frustration. With the numbers you are reporting from your prep, I find your actual score very odd too.

That's just horrible! Maybe there was a problem with many people's score. I hope so. At least your passed. Not that that makes you feel any better. At this rate I will probably get a 250. Sad thing is I won't know what to do to pass if I do end up failing.

OMG I am super scared as well! I got a 461 on comsae a one week before the real test. This is so ridiculous. I was a little impatient waiting for my score. Maybe I don't want to know. I took it on August 9, so I may be in the next batch of score release.

I took mine the 8th so hopefully in the net batch.

I scored 801, my exam was on 6/28. I was shocked and not clear how this happened but it definately happened. I don't remember much of the drive home after the exam because I thought I did very poor so to those out there that are worried, this does happen contrary to the outcomes many are reporting. I'm not defending exam because its certainly not well written but keep the hopes up!

There it is!

Congrats dude...that is insane.

I wasn't actually asking to see it! Just saying...

Edit: But holy crap; good job, man! I'd love it if you would bless us all with your study habits (especially those of us who will be taking it this coming summer).

Looks like you still have to pass the PE though haha

Yeah all of this and I will fail the humanistic domain or completely mess up the OMM component given my OMM repertoire consists of basically soft tissue techniques

I completely made up the most absurd "OMM" on one of my patients. I think they might fail me just for that mess.

I agree with this sentiment. I felt ok about the test, but not great. Ended up with a 780, scored 661 last year. I'm only saying this to show that scores can improve, even if you dont feel like the test went well.

Am I going to ask them to recheck it? No.

Hello all,

Took this beast a couple of days ago and I just can't relax and enjoy it being over...I didn't feel great or terrible about it, but I made the mistake of looking at SDN in the weeks up to my exam and seeing the many people who failed or had plummeting scores from step 1. I know there is nothing to do but wait, but just wanted to pop in. I have been going over many questions I know i got wrong in my head, but i'm hoping I remember those best because they are the ones i thought most about on exam day.

As many others have said, I really don't think this exam comes close to testing practical knowledge seen/taught in 3rd year. Review books barely helped. I think i marked between 10-15 q per section. I also am frustrated because I know i made a few mistakes that could have been avoided (realized a right answer right after ending a section etc. and not being able to convert a fraction to the right percentage....very frustrating). My biggest fear is failing by only a few points...ugh. it's gonna be a tough month....

I have taken usmle step 1 and 2ck. Seriously contemplating just taking the clinical skills portion of the usmle so I can finish the usmle series and avoid taking another comlex exam. Hell, Im almost willing to pay the extra grand to the usmle people just to avoid the nonsense that is the nbome and step 3.

I thought you had to take step 3 regardless?

I don't know why they can't release scores on a scheduled timely basis like USMLE and notify us via email when scores are released. They should be more organized.

Even the testing interface is not very good. Highlight feature is not easy to use and the program basically freezes for 10-15 seconds between blocks.

You know they likely have tomorrow off, then monday off due to the holiday, then prob do a half day on tuesday, then spend a day just playing catch-up on emails, so they wont get jack done next week either.
