2013-2014 APPIC (internship) Phase II

So the interview with Chestnut Hill College is insane. I had the first interview last Friday, I have a second interview with two of the centers psychologists today and a third interview on Thursday with the Practice manager

They did. My interviewer in York also wanted an in-person interview (not a big deal for me, though, it's not far to go and I had some time in my schedule).
 
Just got a phone call from Immaculata to schedule a phone interview for the John Peters track
 
Perhaps Wellspan is only recruiting local people? I applied there in both Phase I and Phase II and thought I was a really good fit. Perhaps the fact that I'm in Texas mattered? I still get headaches when I try to figure out what the heck "fit" means to all of these sites.

Same here. I did not hear from WellSpan either and feel like it would be a great match with my CBT background (sigh). Let' hope for some good news (either from WellSpan or other sites) today.
 
Yeah, sometimes the "fit" thing can be annoying. I'm looking for sites that can build on what I have and are not just exactly what I have been doing. But then they probably don't consider me a "good fit" if I don't have the exact experience in what they are doing. It is my personal opinion that internship is a learning experience, I don't want to just do what I already know!!!!!
 
Are you guys sending out email thank you notes after interviewing? I didn't for phase 1 and am wondering if I should this time.
This waiting game is possibly more stressful than it was for phase 1!!

Northeast Oklahoma Psychology Internship Program - Forensic track: Non-personalized "dear applicant" email; phone interviews
Heart of America - Royal Oaks Hospital track: Personalized email with a time for a phone interview already designated for me (and it's tomorrow!)
 
To add to the list, got a phone call from Joseph J Peters (Immaculata) and got an email from Family Psychological Center, PA (Heart of America)

I definitely am going to! Not taking any chances this time around.

I only have one interview too. This is starting to feel like phase I all over again. And people have been hearing from a bunch of the sites I applied to 🙁
 
@CoralMint I know it sucks but if we have to spend one more year in grad school it wouldn't be the worse thing. I just keep telling myself "I'm only 24, I can spend 1 more year in school". For me the worst parts are the deflated ego from this process and pushing my wedding date back (I won't get married until I'm done).
 
I am keeping my email open waiting for the dings, but no noise today. I am still waiting to hear from (omitting the ones others have heard from)

You're only 24?! You def have the time to spend 1 more year in school haha. I'm sorry internship is affecting your life so much in regards to the wedding, but the year off might give you ample time for planning 🙂

I just got the "Dear Applicant" email too. I applied to all 3 sites: Brandywine, Mapleton, and Poconos. So didn't specify which sites I'm interviewing for.

I'm waiting to hear from Boys Town Grand Island and FSU Louise Goldhagen....My faith in those is dwindling because it seems like invites to those have already gone out. Especially because I interviewed with both in phase 1. Oh well...trying to keep my head up about others!! This is such a supportive community! So thankful I discovered it 🙂

I have to say I totally agree about having all of you guys to go through this with--it has been really hard to talk about this experience with those in my program, even those who want to help and support me. It has made a huge difference to be able to share my experiences and read about others' through this forum! Thanks guys! And thanks psychrat and wagwise for organizing the interview information for all the rest of us!
 
Sigh... Part of the silver-lining of Phase II for me was that a couple sites I really liked during Phase I were still available, and that they may give me a second look. So far that hasn't happened. Ugh.

Yeah. I totally agree. And I know they mean well, but I don't like people who have matched during Phase I this year dropping in here to offer encouragement. There, I said it. I am sorry to be negative, but all of my friends matched and I like having somewhere to "go" where this struggle is part of the norm.

This is a good point. A lot of sites were probably just as surprised to have to go to Phase II as we were, and the kind of time they reserved for reviewing applications and conducting interviews in December and January is just as condensed for them. (That's probably my last gasp of philosophy for the week.)
