2013- 2014 Georgetown GEMS !

Hello accepted people,

Where are people looking to live? I'm a guy looking for a roommate or two to save some money.
I'd be down to live walking distance to GU or somewhere near one of the GUTS buses.
PM me or reply to thread to get a roommate/living situation convo going.

Is anyone still looking for a roommate? I'm a male student looking for a place that is not to far from the campus since I do not drive. Obviously, the lower the rent the better but at this point, I can't be picky. Please inbox me if interested.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am posting again because I may have found a good spot on Glover Park. For now, a room will be available in July that would take. There are three other rooms that will not be available until August when the lease of the current residents ends. In August, we (the four people living there) would have to sign a new lease. I know this would be a tough situation since it means having to find a temporary spot for July, but wanted to give this a shot since Glover Park is conveniently close to the campus. Unless I can get some of you guys in for sure, I won't take it either since it means I would have to move out in August if I do not find 3 other people so sign the lase with me then. Please PM me if you are interested.

Thanks!

P.S. The room I am long at is $900. Still not sure how much the other rooms are or if that price will change with a new lease, but still getting information on it.

Hey guys congrats to those of you accepted to GEMS, get ready to work hard but have a lot of fun. Send me a private message if you have any questions as you make the transition to DC and I will try my best to answer them. I look forward to seeing you around in July!

Hey everyone! I was also accepted into the program. I have found housing but it will not be available until the endof July/first of August. Are there any women who would not mind letting me crash on their couch or something for 2.5 weeks until my place is ready?

When does this program start accepting applications?

Nevermind, found it app is available from Feb-March. I'm interested in this program. Seems supercompetitive though.

Hi Everyone!

I am planning to apply to this program for fall 2015 admission. Looking at the requirements, I noticed that we have to submit an AAMCAS application. Given that I am applying to begin this program in fall 2015, why is it that I am submitting an application for medical school for fall 2015? Just a bit confused...

Hey I'm applying for 2015 too. It's more about the verification process I believe, that's why they make you turn in the AMCAS app.

Thanks for the reply! What med school should I put down? Just Georgetown?

You don't need to put the gtown med school (I checked), you could if you want, but gems just wants the amcas ID number to verify your app was verified. I would apply for a school you may have even the slightest of chances, or don't apply for any

This question may be obvious...but I am in the process of submitting the AMCAS app but how do I send it to GEMS? I don't want to send it to a medical school, because that would be a waste given that I am applying for 2016. Is there a special system that I am not aware of? AMCAS won't let me submit without having at least one school on my list.

You don't send it to GEMS. The program specifically wants you to have an AMCAS ID number, since that means you have been verified. The GEMS app opens in February, and will ask for your AMCAS ID number there. I think it kinda forces you to apply to a med school, so I just applied to Ohio State for the MedPath program and I applied to MSU for the ABLE program.

Does anyone know what essay questions were being asked the previous years? I kinda skimmed through this thread but I do not see it.
Applying this year as well.
