Waiting to hear back from a couple more non-rolling schools, and interviewing at my state school later this month. Meanwhile dying to get my W-2s so I can fill out FAFSA and get an idea of my financial options. Could this process be any more drawn-out?

Thank you!! Fun fact - when I took the MCAT, I drew a heart and wrote UCSF in it on my scratch paper. I don't know where I'll end up matriculating now that I've visited all of these amazing schools, but UCSF was my first love for sure.
 
For some pretty specific reasons, UCSF was one of my top choices in the beginning of the cycle, but I got promptly rejected postsecondary 🙂

I hope financial and all the other mundane things work out for you in the best possible way.

The "make an account to see a pdf" rejection from UCSF? I don't know, I found it rather obnoxious. But I'm probably jaded. 🙂
 
I guess I already had an account, so I didn't have to create one.

UCSF is a very hard school to get into for anyone, and for OOS even more so. And it's scary how many highly qualified applicants are out there (I know I sound like a rejection letter, but hey, it's the truth 😉). One has to be pretty special to get into a school like this. So, again, no hard feelings here.

To be honest, I'm kind of envious of the people who got accepted to Pitt today. But it would surely be awesome to be accepted from its wait list and join a certain unnamed non-trad there 😉

Accepted at NEOMED yesterday! 7 years post graduation, a marriage, a 2-year old, another baby due soon, retaking the mcat 10 years after taking o chem and physics, and the list goes on! Just thrilled to know it's finally come full circle!!!!!!

Yes, WashU is awesome! I still haven't quite digested the news. And I just can't help thinking about the randomness of this process (as I perceive it), which goes both for the schools I didn't get accepted to and the schools I did. You think you're a really good fit for a school and get wait listed; you think you're totally not the kind of person the school is looking for and get accepted. Mind-boggling. Abandon all hope attempts of making sense of it, everyone who enters medical school application process 🙂
 
Congrats on all these acceptances, ya'll are so amazing! Non-trads unite!! In other news-- I've been riding the wait-list train as of late and I am ready to get off!!! Lol.

Thank you for your motivational words, so very true! Historically, 2 of the schools I'm waiting on see most of their movement come summer...SUMMER! Thankfully I have a couple acceptances but Lord, almighty. Patience is not one of my virtues. Don't get me wrong I am still grateful and thankful for the opportunities. I just wanted a safe haven to vent; hope I haven't annoyed anybody 😀

I find that odd considering the median age is 24. I think that those people just didn't post on SDN. I know of two people I did my post-bacc with who got in last year.

I withdrew from Brown but everything else is very much in the running. I could do UTMB debt free, but I don't know if that would be worth passing up these other schools. Whatever happens, I will have to say no to a lot of amazing programs.

I just wish I could go back and show my school list to the high school teachers who told me to drop out when I got pregnant. Now I've got a nine year old and some amazing choices!

I hear you, sister! My high school administration dropped all of my senior year classes and pushed me into vocational auto shop because I was, in the words of my principal, "clearly not college material." Now I'll be completing my third year rotations as a member of the first class of medical students the city has ever had.

Good luck choosing between those options!

I just wish I could go back and show my school list to the high school teachers who told me to drop out when I got pregnant. Now I've got a nine year old and some amazing choices!

I hear that. I can still remember some of my high school teachers telling me "you'll never amount to anything!" I barely graduated and was pretty discouraged way back then.

Good thing that sometimes people are wrong...
