Oh thanks! I figured denials and wait lists would be through the mail. Have you heard anything back yet?I think everything will be email unless it's a denial letter

I haven't gotten a wait list or a denial. Nothing since my hold letter.Has anyone received a waitlist letter in the mail? Or an acceptance off of the waitlist?
Received alternate list notification via snail mail today. Interviewed in February.I think everything will be email unless it's a denial letter

How do you know which third? My letter didn't specify.I'm in the bottom third of waitlist. Anyone know my chances of getting accepted?
I emailed them and asked. How do you know which third? My letter didn't specify.
That is correct, there is no official list until after this week finishes. There will be some movement but not the mass movement that happens after decision day.
On the alternate list mail, it said that all 100 students have accepted their position to enroll in the upcoming class. Does this mean that the decision day has already passed along with the subsequent movement off of the alternate list?
Anybody have an idea as to how many total people are on the alternate list? No, Many of those 100 students have been accepted to other schools as well. If they choose to go elsewhere, their spot will be given to a waitlisted student. Many students make their choice by April 30th because its the refund deadline
Anyone accepted off the wait list yet? I know it's not the 30th yet, but looking at threads from previous years, movement started early!
Well the according to the 14-15 threadAnyone accepted off the wait list yet? I know it's not the 30th yet, but looking at threads from previous years, movement started early!

They seem to want people who have significant ties to the state. I'm applying OOS with no real ties other than the fact that I have a cousin who is a professor at the university (not the medical school). Would this be considered a significant enough tie? I don't want to pay the fee if there isn't really any chance of being accepted as an OOS applicant.
What makes you say that? I went through their website and other than saying they want to contribute to clinical services to South Carolina (which I feel like most state sponsored schools will say), I haven't found much suggesting that. They also accept 20% OOS from the stats I've seen.
P.S. Sorry for wildly late response. I'm just pre-writing secondaries and researching for this year's upcoming cycle.
Thanks in advance!
I sent my primary application in there since I also didn't see much on their website that indicated they had a strong IS preference. However when I received my secondary application invitation email the email had a paragraph that I've quoted below indicating they wanted strong ties to the state. In the end I decided to not submit a secondary there because aside from having a family member who works at the university I don't have any personal strong ties to the state.
"South Carolina residency is a primary admission consideration. Non-resident applications will be considered; however, only applicants with strong ties to the state of South Carolina will be given serious consideration."
Glad I'm not the only one 😀Anybody else going crazy waiting on the 30th
I'm in the same boat! Lol I'm still holding out hope. In previous years some people have been accepted from the bottom third, so it's not over yet! This makes me happy that it's starting early..... HELLO from the bottom 3rd! Lol

Amen! This goes out to all the hopefuls out there!I'm in the same boat! Lol I'm still holding out hope. In previous years some people have been accepted from the bottom third, so it's not over yet!
Judging by last years post, I think they are separate. I'm not sure if that means there are actually two separate lists or if there is just one and they go out of order to accommodate if they need an IS vs OOS student though.Anybody know if there's a separate waitlist for OOS? Or are they all grouped together?
Same here. Good luck to everyone still in the running.Waitlist is moving , I was very recently accepted off the top third of the IS list
Congrats! Do you know which 3rd you were in?Got in this morning. The list should probably start moving now. Good luck everyone!

Hey guys, in state applicant here, I was just accepted from the middle third of the waitlist this morning. Don't give up yet!
I got an e-mail from the Dean of Admissions asking to call them to "discuss my admission status". That seems to be how they're breaking the news.
WOOHOO!
I'm in the same boat (except I'm waaaaaay in the bottom third). Honestly I expect the whole middle third to get in judging by recent years. Good luck to you!Congratulations! I'm in the middle third of the IS wait list and haven't been called yet. I feel like I am going crazy here refreshing sdn and my email every 5 seconds. Does anyone else feel this way? I am not one to comment on forums but I figured what the heck. I guess this is a positive that they made it to the middle third only a couple of days after decision day. Best of luck everyone! I hope we all get in 🙂
