Movement!!! I'm still hiding in hopes of surviving the next assault of rejections.

When were you complete??

So correct me if I am wrong, but it seems as if Georgetown places much more emphasis on service and volunteering and less on research than most other mid to high level schools?

someone asked something similar earlier but I'm more than happy to give my 2 cents again:
So to answer your question yes and no....yes in that because it's a jesuit school and its mission focuses on serving others (esp underserved) and creating physicians who are compassionate, they do look for people who have devoted their time to service. BUT at the same time, that doesn't mean that it doesn't care a lot about research. I have friends at Georgetown who fall on both ends of the spectrum- one who spent four years working in a lab, was actually going to apply to PhD programs but decided to go to med school, and I have a few friends who never had experiences in a research lab and instead did volunteering, and served the underserved and had other meaningful ECs that fit their character and visions.
You should look back at your own application and ask yourself what kind of physician you want to be (outside of speciality etc) and see how all your ECs have led you to that point or how well they define who you are/want to be

I believe on interview day last year - or the summer information session, they said they were looking for applicants who had ~200 hours of research, service, and clinical each. I am unsure if a majority of people who were actually interviewed had those numbers tho.

Hi everyone!
I've been having a lot of trouble with paying the application fee. Every time I submit my payment, I get redirected to the secondary app, but my payment is not processed. I read the comment about hitting the return key, but nothing happens when I do. Did anyone else have this problem? I'd really appreciate some help 🙂

maybe try paying on a different browser? If not I'd call the office and they can try and take your card info right then and there though not sure if anyone's still there now....or try again in half an hour? see what happens!

Thank you for the advice! Of all browsers, it ended up working in Microsoft Edge.

Just rejected.
It's probably due to my lack of research (~200 hours) and volunteering (~100 hours).
Had a 3.88cGPA, 3.96 sGPA and 514 MCAT (124 CARS probably killed me)

First rejection of this cycle, 3.9/30. Kind of figured that my chances were slim at these schools like Georgetown, GW, Drexel, Temple, etc.

Complete here 7/11...waiting for the axe to drop

I HAVE FALLEN. . It's all good though, I was 80% sure I'd be rejected sooner or later. Good luck to everyone else still in the running!!!
