2017-2018 LECOM

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Has anyone actually gotten an pre-II rejection? Or do they just silent reject everybody?

I'm still waiting on a response from 11/3 . I'm hoping to hear something back next Wednesday.

Is it just me or is 10 weeks a really long time for a decision

Any 11/16 interviewees hear back yet? My portal still says " Thank you for interviewing at the Erie Campus, you will be notifed when the committee makes a decision on your application."

Does everyone who gets an interview offer for LECOM erie also get one for the one in Florida?

Hey all, non-SDN friend of mine as an interview here coming up. Would someone mind sharing the general schedule of the day? What time does is typically end? Thank you!
According to the email, they said it starts at 8 AM and should end by 1 PM

Exact same thing here, bud. And I improved a couple things in my app. Curious as well.

I am also in the same boat. And I added DO shadowing which I was lacking. I am a bit surprised how you can go from waitlist to no interview.

Yeah, I did more DO shadowing, got a DO letter, did TONS of volunteer work, and improved my MCAT. I don't understand, maybe it's just a really competitive cycle.

Rejected, interviewed 11/17. No reason, and don't really understand how they could've gotten to know me via a group interview w 7 other people. (MCAT 511, cGPA 3.5, sGPA 3.4)

Omg, I'm screwed then...

I don't know, I think it might be that I was lacking in patient/clinical experience (~200 hours of volunteering in ER, ~20 hours shadowing and that's really it). Don't write yourself off yet! It's hard to say exactly what they look for in an applicant.

Yeah. it is. I do have a lot of clinical experience so I hope they will consider me

Has anyone else receive an II lately?
Received an II for Seton Hill campus on 1/11 and scheduled it for 3/2 (It's later than I prefer, but the previous dates coincided with my exams. When I checked they still had Feb dates available).

has Erie been taking a lot of people off the alternate list yet?

Thanks! Good luck!

For people waiting post-interview, one of my friends who interviewed this cycle shared they were told by admissions they are getting ready to release some decisions if they have not done so already.

I hope so. I thought it would happen today but nothing yet

Anyone interviews in December and received a response: how does your applicant portal look for the "admissions status"?

after I'm upfront with LECOM about this event what do you think the chances of them rescinding my acceptance is?
Not sure, to be honest. My gut says if you’re honest about it they’re unlikely to rescind, but likely to put you in some sort of monitoring program. This is pure speculation though; I’m just a fourth year, I have no insight into the minds of admissions or administration.

Don’t hide it from them though. If it shows up as a surprise on your entrance background check or, worse, your fingerprint background check when you’re two years in heading to rotations, that won’t end well.

For people on the alternate list, after you sent the paper back confirming alternate list, did your portal change? And if so how long did it take?

For those of you who have sent update letters, did you send them to both Erie and Bradenton? Who responded, if anyone?

Send it to wherever you applied. I sent mine to Amy Rowe at Erie (didn't apply to Bradenton) and she responded.

I found my II today from LECOM and signed up for a spot! However I saw I had been offered an interview when I checked on the portal and not in my personal email? Is this an issue, did I miss anything? I checked my spam and everything but I haven't gotten any email indication yet.

Wishing everyone on this thread the best of luck! Got an acceptance closer to home today, so I'll be withdrawing from my February II. Hope it goes to one of the fantastic peeps of SDN!!!

Anyone hear back recently? Any portal changes reg decision being made?

Anything I should prepare my self for? Interview on the first of feb

Nothing. 11/3 interview. Dying.

I interviewed on 10/26 and haven't heard anything. Though I will be declining (if offered) this acceptance, a school that takes 12+ weeks to give a decision back to their interviewees is a disappointment and I believe is a direct reflection of the strength of that program as well. My unsolicited 2 cents.

I agree with you completely.

I think that is frustrating that you had to wait so long, but I have heard of other programs including MDs taking this long. I also think that because they do interviews at both locations, Erie and SH, the logistics of comparing applicants at both sites takes longer.

Mine was that day too. Actually just checked my portal and it has changed to 'decision has been made". My heart is racing... hello mailman everyday at the designated spot.

I agree with you and will be putting my deposit down else where

Anyone know if I have any odds of hearing back at all? Been complete since July!

Interviewed Oct 20 and got my letter in the mail yesterday. Waitlisted but will be declining my waitlist seat as I have acceptances elsewhere that I am very excited about.

Hi everyone! I'm interviewing here in a few weeks & am (understandably) incredibly nervous! I'm sure it has been answered in the past, however, does anyone have any advice on how to best prepare for the interview? (questions, format, etc). Thank you so so much!

What were your stats if you don't mind me asking?

Sure! To preserve anonymity I always give ranges. But to note I wouldn’t say my stats were what got me my other acceptances, I think my extra curriculars really played a role in that.

My Science and total GPA: 3.7-3.9 and MCAT: 500-505

I have a couple thousand hours of patient care as well as a few hundred volunteer hours.
