Hi y'all, just revieved and invite to an interview at TWU Denton for January 10th at 2:30. Anyone else at this time?
Excited but nervous, this is my first time applying so I dont know what to expect!

Here are my stats
University: University of Arkansas
Major: Kinesiology
Overall GPA: 3.84
Last 60 GPA: 4.0
Pre-Req GPA: 4.0
GRE: 147 V, 149 Q, Writing 4
Employment/Extra-Curric:
-Played soccer 4 years at the U of A
Observation: (72 hours)
-45 hours skilled nursing facility
-2 hours elementary school
-25 hours pediatrics
Volunteer: (250 hours)
- Volunteering around Fayettteville (special needs olympics, veterans hospital, schools...etc)
- Mission work at an orphanage in Guatemala
LOR: 1 OT, 1 advisor, 1 Professor, 1 former Coach
Awards:
College- Dean's List and Chancellor's List, SEC Honor Roll all years
Applied: Texas Women’s University (Denton), Texas Tech, KU

In admissions status on the twu webadvisor did it change from “Awaiting Commitee review”?
 
Hi guys! I'm so glad I found this forum because I have been going CRAZY waiting for interview invitations, haha. I received one yesterday from TWU. I'll be at the Denton campus on January 10th at 2:30. 🙂 I submitted my OTCAS application on October 11th, I believe, and still haven't heard anything from Tech yet or UT. Last time I called Tech they just told me my application was under review, but I'm going to try calling again tomorrow. I've heard of them taking until February to send some people interview invites. :dead:

Stats/Etc.
I graduated with a 3.75 overall GPA, and a last 60 GPA of 3.8-3.9? maybe? My pre-req GPA was 3.65. I didn't really study for the GRE, but my verbal was above average and my quant. was a little below, with my writing being average. I acquired roughly 60 observation hours in three different settings, and I've logged 250+ hours in volunteering at the dog shelter and university hospital. I ran psychology studies for two years, taught biology/anatomy last year, and wrote a case study a professor of mine is currently helping me submit for publication. I also did research on stage four quadriplegia with an anatomy professor my senior year (and wrote a grueling 12 page paper on it yikes). I was in the honors college too, so I graduated with Honors. I got a letter from an OT, and then three other letters from professors I've worked with.

I would love to go to TWU but Tech has been my dream since I decided to go to Tech three years ago. I have my fingers crossed!

I got an email yesterday to interview at the Denton Campus at 9:00 am so I will see you there! I also am interviewing with Tech this Friday at 12 and I am sooooo nervous. This will be my first interview and I'm not sure what to expect.
 
Does anyone know if there is a waitlist for TWU this year?
 
I'm volunteering to assist with the interview process on either the 10th or 11th in Houston. Likely helping with the tours. We didn't have to interview last year, so it'll be cool to observe the process for you guys. Good luck!!

Congratulations! I’m sure we will run into eachother during the process. I’m a bit nervous only because TWU hasn’t done interviews in the past so none of us really have much to go on 🙁
 
No one be nervous! All of these programs want you to do well and invited you to interview for a reason. I was accepted to Tech and i feel a large part of it was how well I clicked with the staff and program. Just have real conversations with them and show them why you're passionate about OT. This is also an interview for them to you, you have to like the program as well for it to be a good fit. They aren't setting you up to fail, just wanting to get to know you. And for those interviewing at TWU it may be an advantage of them not interviewing before because they will be just as new and nervous as you, and won't have really much to go off in regards to interview skills of their applicants. Stay positive and what's meant to happen will! 🙂
 
I also got interview offers at UTMB and TWU and am declining both as i accepted my spot at Tech so for those of you who haven't heard don't lose hope they will be sending out more offers once they get feedback of everyone who is going!

Yes, I am a bit nervous about the interview process, so I am doing a mock interview next week to help with the nerves and get advice.

Actually, they used to do interviews and used to require physics. They stopped. They're just starting it up again. They quit because they didn't feel it was a good indicator of whether or not a student would excel in the program. But for whatever reason they want to bring it back. May have something to do with the new head cheese. Same reason the school logo changed. If you search the forum, you'll find threads from years ago commenting on the interview process.

oh wow, did not know that. Thank you for that information. Maybe I can get some sort of idea on what to expect from those threads.
 
Does anyone know if once you graduate you have to send every individual school your official final transcript?

UTMB says that you only have to send your final transcripts if you are accepted. I am guessing it would be the same elsewhere.

This would probably be a good question to ask the specific schools; however, I know that OTCAS has an academic update period where you can enter your grades for the fall semester and send new transcripts. If you're graduating in December, that may be an easy way to do it!

Also, I hope everyone's interviews at Tech went well today! I almost chose this interview date and was thinking about how crazy travel must've been with the insane weather!!
 
Is anyone interviewing with UT San Antonio soon? I have mine on Tuesday Dec. 19.

Mine is on January 5. Good luck to you!! It’ll be my first interview and I am so nervous. Have you heard anything about it?

All I know is that we will have a group and individual interview on that day. But they can add to do a video overview of ourselves which happened last year. It is my first time interviewing with them as well. I just got my info from my friend who did the interview last year.
Good luck! No worries, as soon as I get more info and finish the interview I'll keep everyone updated.
 
Does anyone know how long the TWU interview is supposed to last? I'm trying to schedule flights.
 
I accepted an interview at TWU Denton on January 11th!
 
Just asked today to Interview at TWU Dallas at 2:30 on January 10th- Woo Hoo! thanks to whoever turned down their interview spot🙂 I completed my Texas Tech interview last Friday and really enjoyed the experience. I interview at Midwestern in AZ on January 9th and fly back that night.
 
Is anyone still waiting to hear back regarding an interview invitation from UTHSC San Antonio?
 
Got an acceptance from a school that I need to reply to before I go on my next two interviews....

Did you receive any email before you received an interview invitation? Like were you told you were going to be on the waitlist?

No I had not heard from them at all. I heard from someone else that they got a denial so I was holding out hope. Monday morning I emailed Amber to ask my status. She did not reply but a few hours later I got the invitation. Good luck!

That is so cool you get to be part of the process. I am interviewing at TWU Houston Jan 10 at 11:30 am. Let me know if you have any tips at all or insight into the program that could be useful, I welcome any advice🙂 TWU houston is my first choice and will be my second interview so I am trying to prepare the best I can. Thanks!
