Congrats! What time did they call?
Edit: Nevermind! I see someone posted that already.
I have heard mixed feedback as well re thank you emails which is why I threw the question out there... I guess it's good to know that nothing about this process is straight forward. Or easy. Or sensible. #LetsKeepAddingToOurAnxiety
Seriously. Still feel completely uncertain if I should email or not. Sigh.
Thank goodness, it's been a whole HOUR since anyone posted a notification on here and I was starting to feel uncomfortable.Site: University of San Diego Counseling Center

Uhhh...congrats?Now this is just my opinion - so take it with a grain of salt and put more weight on advice provided by your faculty and by students who have matched in past years. I don't want this to happen:
Your Chair: Why didn't you send an enthusiastic 'thank you' email to that site you loved so much?!?
You: Well, HappyPhDHopeful said it would be annoying...
Your Chair: WHO SAID WHAT????????!!!!!!?????
You: Rats.

Yay! But also...what the heck.I just received an email stating they want to retract their rejection and would like to extend an invitation to me. 😕
Ha- yes! I'm like, oh okay because if I get a few rejections it means my application is ****, right? There's zero wrong with the entire process, of course!Did they actually say that??

WOW, just wow.Ha- yes! I'm like, oh okay because if I get a few rejections it means my application is ****, right? There's zero wrong with the entire process, of course!

Wait, to what site! That's awesome!I just received an email stating they want to retract their rejection and would like to extend an invitation to me. 😕
WHAT? Who does that?!I just received an email stating they want to retract their rejection and would like to extend an invitation to me. 😕
At least this process has been entertaining at times 😛 For people who are supposed to be understanding and compassionate, this process reveals so much hypocrisy. Par for the course, though.WOW, just wow.![]()

Woooooow. That is super rude of them! Honestly, sounds like you dodged a bullet there.Ha- yes! I'm like, oh okay because if I get a few rejections it means my application is ****, right? There's zero wrong with the entire process, of course!
I guess they prefaced it by "sometimes applicants ask for feedback and we aint got time for that, so go get it critically analyzed" still though 😛Seriously?! Seems a bit presumptuous. Wow....
Tis true. I don't want to know "what's wrong with my app" since other places like it. Their wording was interesting is all lolWoooooow. That is super rude of them! Honestly, sounds like you dodged a bullet there.
🤣 Right? Man, contrast that with the super nice let-downs other people have posted and definitely sounds like Suffolk is a place to avoid.I guess they prefaced it by "sometimes applicants ask for feedback and we aint got time for that, so go get it critically analyzed" still though 😛
Hey, it could be right for the people who got interviews. I just was like...but how realistic is it to expect you'll get an invite everywhere?? Other sites are like WE LOVE YOUR APPLICATION WOW, then others are like, this is crap. Haha, what has this world come to, none of it makes sense 😛🤣 Right? I hear ya... it may not be the wrong place for everyone and hopefully is the absolute right place (#wandsitestyle) for some people. That rejection certainly rubbed me the wrong way is all my sarcastic criticism is meant to say.Hey, it could be right for the people who got interviews. I just laughed out loud so hard it hurt. I'm sure it was out of good intentions, just I interpreted it like "whaaat, do I suck this badly?Ha! I think this TD needs to heed the advice of Craig Ferguson. He said he asks himself 3 questions before speaking:
1) Does this need to be said?
2) Does this need to be said by me?
3) Does this need to be said by me NOW?
In this case, the answer to #1 is maybe. But the answer to #2 and 3 (for the TD) is a great big heck no! Dude, boundaries! Let the DCTs take care of it!
Oh yes, it rubbed me the wrong way too, but all I can do is laugh at it and be like, I still am in a good position and have awesome places to interview with. I just don't want any people who got interviews there to jump on me 😛I hear ya... it may not be the wrong place for everyone and hopefully is the absolute right place (#wandsitestyle) for some people. BTW- Purely phone interviews are ROUGH. First one today, first interview too, guess it could have gone much worse. No longer an APPIC interview virgin. Let the fun begin!

"The most common reasons that applicants are not offered interviews at our site are: 1) interests and goals that are not a clear fit with our training philosophy and the experiences we can provide; 2) less multicultural self-awareness or experience than other applicants; and 3) less clinical experience than other applicants."
