Since this was a personal email, do you get the sense these were rolling invites? I haven't heard anything but it looks like rejections haven't gone out either...

When you got your email did it specifically say you were invite to interview with the Neuro track or just invited to interview with them without naming any particular tracks?

Anyone who applied to the geropsychology track at Louis Stokes (Cleveland) VA hear anything today?

Anyone hear from Centerstone Consortium yet? I am waiting to hear about the adult generalist track

Was this for adult neuro? (aka not peds?)

Oh yes! Sorry i forgot they also have peds. Mine was adult Neuro.
No problem! Hoping for a peds neuro interview from them! (and looks like last year both adult and peds neuro notified on the same day, so hopefully, I get good news today)

For those that heard from Henry Ford today I just want to clarify that they are asking for us to wait until 12/13 to call and schedule an interview correct?

Also, if that is the case, did you send any kind of email back to the invitation?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have a sense based on the email. Hopefully it is rolling, although I will say most of the dates are already filled up (they are using Calendly to schedule interviews). Good luck!!! This process is tough.

Apologize in advanced if this was already asked, but do all sites send out a rejection? or do we just assume (after dec 15) that they won't send us an offer?

Most do, sometimes things fall through the cracks. If you are not sure and the deadline has passed by several days, feel free to send an email. Also, make sure you check your spam folders.

Who are all the qualified people getting interviews for UCCs in California?!!

I hope it's clear that's a semi-joking tone 😉 but truly I'm feeling defeated after working at UCCs for 1.5 years, having what I thought were solid application materials, and still not getting any interviews at any CA UCCs. So curious what the magic touch is 🙂

There may be other qualification things at play, but I’d say it’s worth keeping in mind that “fit” is such a key arbitrary determining factor at this point. Maybe these sites recently experienced a bunch of _____ clients and so prioritized applicants who had a practice or research focus on that topic. Or perhaps they recently determine they wanted to move in a _____ focused direction; trauma, race, sexuality, suicide, anxiety, substance … we could think of a million niche directions a site may have internally decided is a priority now.

Others who applied to these sites might provide more insight, but I just want to provide a general reminder/encouragement that your lack of invitation could absolutely be based on a very niche subjective priority. For example, I’ve framed myself as an LGBTQ+ oriented practitioner across all areas of my work - I imagine that some sites may not value this specialization as much as others and thus I may miss out compared to equally qualified applicants with a different specialty

I sent you a message about this site.

Any suggestions for rating sites/taking notes after interviews? It was suggested that we write down notes and rate sites on professional and personal fit but I'm rating most of my sites about the same after interviews.. None are bad fits and all thus far have some drawbacks. A month from now I'm going to have a hard time ranking them.

I am using Marco Polo to record a string of reaction videos. A friend did it a few years ago as she was interviewing and it was really helpful to me to start learning about interviews, but also way easier for my friend come rankings. I recorded some short clips during the break after I met with each faculty and the students. It's way more detailed than anything I could write down and I can easily observe how I FELT about the site, somewhat hard to capture on paper.

During my year, I ended up having 2 sites I really liked but not much differentiated the next batch and my list was rounded out by a few that would have been disappointments.

I wonder if either expanding your ranking criteria (like adding more personal/lifestyle factors) or giving greater weight to a few factors can give you more rank ordered clarity.

For programs outside my top and bottom tiers, I ultimately prioritized geography and perceived work/life balance because if all things were pretty equal, I didn't feel like it would be worth it to move across the country or be at a place with overly high workload demands for what I perceived to be an 'OK' opportunity.

With that said, there was a regional site that seemed to have good work-life balance that I ultimately bumped further down my list because I just wasn't that impressed by the quality of staff so despite meeting those 2 big criteria, my gut told me to rank it lower compared to others in my middle tier.

Morning all. Did anyone here apply to the Latinx health track at Cambridge/Harvard? I notice that the Adult OPD/Acute tracks went out yesterday but not sure about Latinx. Thanks.

Any advice or strategies for group interviews? I.e., speak first, speak last, etc.?

Did you not do any group interviews for your doc program? Because I am leaning on that experience as well as the many group interviews I sat in on for younger cohorts. I think what is most important in those interviews are being respectful, not talking over others, speaking when you have formalized an answer rather than blurting it out etc..
