Hey, did the Columbia interview email say it was going to be with a current student?

Rejected from Cornell.

Apparently this was the most applications they have ever received— so either this is a really strong cycle or a lot of people just happened to apply to Cornell.

Thought that was interesting since this forum has been fairly quiet in comparison to recent years.

Did anyone apply to the Yale MPH in Health Care Management program? If yes, have you received am email regarding an interview?

Rejected from Cornell as well. Same thoughts exactly.

Absolutely devasted.

Hi- yes my interview was conducted by a 2nd year current MHA student. Pretty informal, audio only, and just asked basic questions like why MHA and what you would like to get out of Columbia's program!

Thrilled about my upcoming interviews. Anyone been through Rush or Ohio
Hey everyone!

I am a current MHA candidate at Hopkins, please feel free to reach out for any questions. The interview I had last year was really laid back and I enjoyed it a lot. The program is going well, tons of classes and we are getting started for our residency showcases as well.

Overall, my advice is to go to a school where you feel at home and where you like the culture. Another piece is, I would consider applying to all of the schools that offer residencies, if you are going to apply for an admin fellowship after a two-year program, would it not be better to apply to a 3-year program where you are guaranteed a residency with one of the schools partnering hospitals? Just something to think about,

One program that I absolutely loved was Xavier, they really care for their students and applicants too. Their ranking isn't as strong, but I really enjoyed their interview and they have an amazing program. Plus they are extremely affordable.

Also, consider the alumni network. They will ultimately help you get jobs/fellowships after the program.

feel free to ask me anything!

Schools that have residencies

Johns Hopkins
VCU
UAB
Xavier
Trinity in texas
GWU has something similar
Could you please elaborate on GWU?

Would it be too late to apply to the Johns Hopkins program?
Not too late to apply JHU as the rolling deadline is Jan 15, 2022.

Congratulations! How was it/ what type of questions did they ask you?
Thanks! It was pretty good; a free flowing conversation about why I'm applying for a MHSA at Michigan, what I plan to do after graduation and a couple of years down the line. We talked about the healthcare scenario in India and the US. They really want to make sure you know why you're applying to their program.

It also depends on your interviewer. Some of the people I know were asked about recent trends in healthcare, how do you keep up with the latest developments, etc.

Attending: Xavier!

I ended up choosing Xavier because they offered me a 40% scholarship and I also have a gig lined up as the live-in house mom for a sorority (free room and board)... plus, Xavier is simply just a better fit for my personality. It feels right.

If anyone else is moving to Ohio for (any) school next year, let me know! We can start a Facebook group or something

Also, is anyone else attending Minnesota's 1/28 group interview?

Hey everyone, I got my acceptance from Yale MPH in Health Care Management this week. However, I heard that because they are not CAHME accredited it may be difficult trying to get administrative fellowships Bc many fellows require that accreditation. Can anyone validate if this is true?

Just got accepted to Rush University! I interviewed with them last Friday and got an acceptance email this morning! I was surprised by the turnaround! The interview format was very chill with 4 faculty members. Basic interview questions you're going to get everywhere with some more situational questions following. I still haven't heard back from GWU about an interview.

Does anyone have any tips for the University of Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Xavier University interviews?

Have you heard anything from them? I applied back in early December and still nothing
Not yet, but I heard they should be sending stuff out by end of Jan. I applied end of September and am still under review.

Just got accepted to Ohio State! The interview was chill but definitely more conversational than Rush with 2 faculty, 2 students, and the director. Super excited about this offer and definitely will be considering it. Turn around was 2 business days even though they said 2 weeks. Questions asked were the typical MHA interview questions and more experience questions as well.

If you don't mind me asking? What are typical MHA questions?

Why MHA, background questions, team-based experience questions, leadership experience, situational questions, etc.
