was anyone able to send an update to Morsani following their interview invitation? i'm confused whether update letters are accepted this cycle for applicants who got an II. thx!!

They only accept pre-II letters of interest, but not updates. I believe they only take updates from applicants who are placed on the waitlist.
When I emailed in my letter of interest, they emailed me telling me that they have received it and added it to my file.

Oop mine was a letter of interest that they kicked back..? now I'm confused.

This was their exact response:
Thank you for your e-mail and interest in the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Consistent with our published policy, and in order to uphold the highest level of integrity for all of our applicants, we are unable to accept any application updates unless specifically requested. If you have any questions, please let us know.

The subject line was letter of interest and it was very much that with a small update in it.

Oof that’s interesting. I also sent a LOI post interview + waitlist that had a small update portion in it, and they accepted it and said it was added to my file. I was going to say try explaining it was a LOI, not update letter, but you’d think that titling it as a LOI would be enough? I’m sorry though because that’s pretty frustrating. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to ask for clarification.

oh wow! That is interesting
I know that the website specifically says they are open to letters of interest from any applicant, but update letters only from those on the waitlist.

This is the email reply I received:
"Thank you for your email to the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. This email is confirmation that your letter of interest has been received. If the committee has any questions, they will contact you."

Maybe it is because you included an update in the body of the LOI? Mine was strictly an LOI.
Honestly I would have clarified that you were sending an LOI, not an update, and see what they say.

This makes sense since they do accept updates from students on the waitlist! Just not pre-II
But they say they accept LOI's from all applicants.
 
for any late november or early december interviewees, I called admissions today and they said I was recently discussed and should be receiving the mail from them soon. so i think we can expect our decisions this or next week

I interviewed 12/19 and got my waitlist letter today, dated 01/14. I am despondent.
 
Sorry for everyone who got WL 🙁 Do we know how many As there have been so far? I barely see any on here
 
Seems like South Florida has basically not accepted anyone since November.
