So I count 9 students on SDN reporting WL->A plus 2 on Admit that are not repeats. I can't make a solid guess about how many students use SDN but 11/178 spots have been offered to waitlist students that have self-reported. So really what this tells me is that the waitlist is moving they just haven't offered a spot to ME so the waitlist is not moving ENOUGH. 🙂

I'm going to continue compulsively checking my phone every 10 minutes until sometime next week.

USUHS is having 2 Virtual School of Medicine Application Workshops next week on the 11th and 15th. I'll hold out hope until I attend one of those sessions and then consider myself a reapplicant. I still have plenty of hope but don't want to get behind on a potential next cycle!

I wonder if only people that aren’t on any forum are the ones getting in, or if waitlist movement has just come to a halt ;-;

Don’t really see how admit, reddit, and here would be this silent if WL movement is supposed to be done by 11MAY </3

I submitted an LOI and still haven’t heard back. I honestly don’t know what’s happening on their end but everyday I lose hope more and more

I submitted one in February as well! I’m not sure that it has any bearing on anything, but it’s always worth a shot to communicate significant updates to your application or continued interest of course.

Received my conditional acceptance email the next day (01 May), then received my unconditional acceptance on 04 May after submitting everything. Best of luck to everyone!!

Some of my previous stats and updates for ease of reference rather than clicking to the original posts:

-Active-duty U.S. Navy; currently in a military pre-med program called the Enlisted to Medical Degree Preparatory Program (EMDP2).​

-Interviewed on 9/23 and 9/30.​
-Received USUHS waitlist email on 10/15 at 06:43am EST​

- Submitted Letter of Intent on 26 Jan, and submitted periodic application updates thereafter. Last application update was sent 07 April.​

Honestly, I am looking for some advice here because this waiting game has been eating me up inside, mentally and physically.

For context, im currently a 68C (LPN) E5 in the reserves, and I discovered USU when I was stationed at Walter Reed during AIT. I fell in love with the school and was determined to make this my place to complete my degree.

Fast forward to application time, and I totally screwed up my MCAT (502). I had applied late since I did not get my scores until June, and I wanted to give this doctor thing one shot because I cannot afford another application cycle.

I was able to receive 5 DO acceptances and 2 MD WL, including USU. Now that I am waiting, I am scared that if I do not get into USU, I will have a really hard time getting into my preferred speciality (EM).

I have narrowed down my DO acceptances to one local to me so that my husband and I can stay together, since he is active duty Army. I just have a lot of regret from this cycle, but I do not think its smart to turn down my one chance to become a doctor just because I did not get the school I wanted.

Not to jump the gun here, but with my stats, I just do not think getting off the WL at USU is possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, I had issues with getting my conditional release, so while I was supposed to be on the WL in FEB (according to ADCOMs), I could not be officially placed until 07APR

Stats:
502 MCAT, 3.83 GPA (3.81 sGPA, 3.85 GPA)
3000+ clinical hours as an LPN and MA (corrections, primary care, home health)
200+ volunteer hours at an animal shelter and free clinic
400+ hours in research on cyanobacteria and how it can contribute to a cleaner enviornment

Hey, congratulations on your acceptance to A medical school. I understand it may not be your first choice, but you would be a doctor at the end, and it is so hard nowadays to get into med school. Just go for it. Keep fingers crossed for USU, but if not, take HPSP, and in the Army, you will have the same opportunities to compete for all the residency programs.

Honestly,
It’s anyone’s guess. No one (here especially) can really give you an answer because we aren’t the ADCOM. But regardless, you will be a doctor!! Congratulations on getting in to any school!!!
You should be very proud of all of your achievements / stats regardless of what the outcome is with USU.
Hope all of us here will be matriculating this fall though 🙂

Waitlisted 25Nov2025 - First choice Navy, second choice Air Force
Interviews both 08Oct2025

I reached out to them today and they told me that they'd notify us if we were no longer under consideration.... it might be them just saying common things that ADCOMs would tell you. But I think it'd be wise to continue in the other direction for now... without losing too much hope
