So I'm applying to the MOT programs and have had 3 interviews... the three I listed.

So far, I've heard from both

Midwestern (glendale) : "Alternate"

Samuel Merritt: "Wait Listed" (11 of 47)

I am not unappreciative of still having a minor shot, but I will say, I feel like I'm hanging on a string just dangling...

I wouldn't say a no would be better, but, the way my mentality goes, it would almost be more reassuring!

University: University of Connecticut
Major: Allied Health Sciences, Psychology and Neuroscience
Also, I have my Assistive Technology Specialist Certification (grad level)
Overall GPA:3:05
Pre-Req GPA: 3.2 (I think)
GRE: 1160 Verbal: 78% Math: 47% Analytical: 5.5

Extra-Curric:

Volunteer:

Acceptances:

Lists: Alternate, Waitlist

Rejections:

Interviews: Samuel Merritt, Midwestern, A.T. Still, University of St Augustine (end of the month)

Has anyone else had this issue? Or applied to any of these programs?

No one I know is doing this so I'm reaching out here!

Hi Justmakemesmile,

I applied to SMU but I didn't get it. This is my first year applying...oh boy..let the fun begin!

Just curious...where did you get your Assistive Technology Specialist Certification? Did you take courses on-line? I've been researching some schools in CA and the cert. is quite costly.

I received an email a few days ago saying I'm wait listed for Samuel Merritt as well so I know what you mean! This feels worse than applying because now this waiting process is just as stressful..ahh. I've been checking online to see how their waitlist works or how many people usually get in but I'm getting nothing. I think I'll call them soon enough just for some peace of mind :)

I have a friend who attends SMU and last year they accepted up to 20 people off of the wait list. I'm not sure what will happen this year though with all of the applicants. Hope that helps:)

Thanks smallk287 :) Does your friend like SMU? That's my #1 choice for OT school right now because I really liked their program; so I'm keeping my fingers-crossed for this year!

Yeah she really likes it. It's a great program. She says that everyone in the program helps each other out which is a great characteristic for a program to have! I wish you the best and I hope that you get in! Getting into your number one school is a great feeling to have!

Hey!

What place are you on the waitlist?

I know after they recieve all of their deposits etc from people they have accepted preliminarily they then start taking people off of the wait list...

I just got accepted to A.T. Still in Arizona. It looks like a good school but I live in SF so Samuel Merritt is ideal, not to mention its a great school... A.T. Still wants a 500$ deposit (non refundable of course) by March 3rd... So I guess I'm putting down a deposit to make sure I'm set and taking it as a loss if I get into SM...

Don't get me wrong I'm not ungrateful about the acceptance I just wish the deposit was due later....

Thank you so much for that Smalltalk... it really helps give some light/hope!

What are you doing in the medical/health sciences field? Are you also an MOT applicant?

Hey guys! I recently heard back from A.T Stills and am on the waitlist. I have no idea what position I am or how long it will take to hear back from them. Do any of you have any idea what I should expect? It is my first choice school. I also applied to Midwestern in Glendale, AZ but have not heard ANYTHING other than that they have received my application. How long did it take for you to hear from the schools you applied to?

I found out from Midwestern in was on their Alternate list about 3 weeks after I applied. A.T. Still sent me an acceptance the week after I applied. All schools work differently- I'm having a hard time between A.T. Still and University of St Augustine. I live in San Francisco so San Diego is more appealing but I really liked A.T. Still and it was the first school I looked at...

If I go with S.D. I hope you get my spot at A.T.! good luck!
