Illini2Med, don't fret! Anything can happen yet...I assume you are in the Illinois area and maybe that is why you are saying this?
No, I am assuming that because everyone who has gotten an acceptance letter got a Tuesday status change. I don't live in Illinois right now, so I won't get my letter for a couple days. I interviewed in early October, and was already passed up so I am not expecting anything anyways, but I was still holding onto a thread of hope.
Yeah, but your sample size is 4, and since no one has posted with rejections, we don't know if there are an equal number of applicants who got rejected with a Tuesday change (and won't know anytime soon, since rejections were sent with the slower bulk mail rate). Maybe the earlier changes just got mailed first. Give it a few days and then I'll be right there with you to be cynical 😉
And good luck! 🙂
Even with a sample size of only 4, the chances of none of them getting a waitlist if it was truly random is incredibly small (approximately 6%.) I'm not completely convinced, but I'm not holding my breath either. The only thing that I find comforting right now is that Northwestern usually accepts people who also get into top 10 schools, so there will probably be some waitlist movement.
What?
It's not like you have a random sample of 4 people. You have 4 people that got accepted. Waitlists and rejections haven't arrived anywhere yet, due to being sent at a slower rate. I was just suggesting that the reason those with a Tues change got their letters first is simply because their apps were processed first. We have no idea whether being processed first correlates to the decision outcome.
Anyway. Time will tell us soon enough.
got my letter today in kansas city - "list of alternate candidates." wednesday status page change, no blue screen drama. make of that what you will. 😳
Woohoo!! I'm in, got my letter today. Status change on Tuesday also got the blue screen. I interviewed in the beginning of February, my letter was dated Feb 27th, but postmarked on the 28th. BTW, I'm in Southern California.
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear.![]()
sorry to hear that, but i see you have at least one acceptance, so you are gonna be an MD - smile!
oh, btw, i was tue status change and live in central cali but received nothing 🙁
Hope I didn't come across as unhappy... I am thrilled to be going to med school, period! I loved Loyola and am truly excited to be going there. 😀
I live in Chicago, so give it some time!
are you a white guy with short blond hair?
did you interview with the middle aged doctor who asked me about point lobos and then about fire hydrants?
i think i remember my student interviewer in the room being from ucla
(third person was a woman with dark curly hair)
(i was there dec 5th)
didnt hear anything yet, but if i dont get in i am holding you personally responsible 😉
as long as i have the collective attention of everyone on sdn who applied to northwestern (or interviewed at least)... did anyone else get interviewed by that guy? what the hell did you say to that question? I never broke eye contact and said 'sir - i have absolutely no idea' then he asked me how i would go about figuring it out... i said something about google it and find the answer in a couple minutes (which i did when i got home, best approximation = 6,000,000)
quite the contrary - i was the most talkative in the bunch, and this was the second question i was asked in the group interviewer (the first was also by him, he asked me about point lobos, a random a state reserve in my hometown, where he had been many times... luckily for me i had done a report on it in middle school and have been there like 20 times, so i was able to talk in depth about it... which probably freaked out the other applicant who had no idea what we were talking about 😀
Ladies and gentlemen, I did not get a letter in San Francisco. Sad, but I'm waiting 'til the mail comes tomorrow to be REALLY sad. After they teased us with that nice travel mug and everything, I thought they really cared. 🙁
I was a little confused about the mug. It was such a nice gift, but it's gonna be kind of weird carrying it around campus if I don't go to NU...🙄

Don't feel weird. I tutored med students at UCSD and I saw a couple students with the mug from Feinberg. I thought it was cute. They must have given out the same one last year--or maybe they randomly happened to buy one or something strange? Not sure.
I got in...letter. madison wisconsin. Junqu didn't get in and went on a bender.
if I hadn't gotten, that mug would have embodied all my bitterness.
I got in!!!! Tuesday status page, don't know about the blue screen, November interview. And I live in Southern California. Can not believe it! It's my first acceptance! I love Feinberg 🙂 Now I can start using my mug (I didn't want to jinx it before)
Hope to see you guys at second look
