Hi Everybody ( specially Dear Drill and Dr Melbourne and ....)😀
Around one month back dear FQS sent those 1060MCQs to me and i announced in the thread who wants those MCQs just send me an e-mail and i will send those to his/her e-mail address as soon as possbile and i got more than 150 requests for those MCQs and i sent MCQs for them BUT NOW ONWARD WHO WANTS THOSE MCQS SHOULD WRITE HIS/HER E-MAIL ADDRESS AGAIN IN THE E-MAIL ALONG THE REQUEST AT THE END OF THE E-MAIL😡 otherwise there will be no reply 👎scared🙁my computer has some hardware problems and doing copy and paste the e-mail address from address bur takes lots of time for me and i have few important exams during next
months)🙁

explanation.

1,formulae for MFP is Na2FPO3
2,consider the atomic weight of each element and get the molecular weight.
mol wt for MFP is 144 (143.95), at wt of F=19
3, F in MFP (Mol Wt ratio) = 19/144=.132
4,.F in .304%MFP = .304 x .132 (multiply % by mol wt ratio)
=.0396=.04
5,to convert %F to ppm or ions multiply by 10 to the power of 4
= 400ppm or 400 ions of fluoride.
(1%F=1g/100ml=10g/1000ml=10,000 mg /1000ml=10,000ppm=10 to the power of 4)

Since I live in melbourne,I got the books within a week as the books were not available when
I ordered them..It took 3-4 days for them to arrive from the warehouse & another 2 days for me to get it.The cost of master dentistry vol1 & 2 were 129.00 in melbourne uni book shop,
116.25 in elsevier(publisher) & other sites(there were quite a few when i googled it).But the price was not better.But in JR IT WAS 109(Both volumes) +postage 7.50=117.50
But if you get volume 2 alone I find it expensive which is abt 82$ so i think you can get both volume 1 & 2.IT DEPENDS ON WHAT BOOKS YOU WANT.you can also get it in amazon.com

I am new to this forum-I had recently appeared for OET and suprisingly to me got only C in writing-which was actually the only one I thought i would pass!! but i passed all others and failed writing part-anybody know whether i have to write all the 4 tests again or do I have to only appear for the writing part??

Hi, This is what I have to say regarding OET.

For letter writing :- Please follow a good format. Choose the format which you can remember and follow and Remember - you can use medical terms here as you are refering to a fellow dentist. You can do rough work if you want to and decide what you have to include or exclude. Please write legibly too

For speaking :- There are 2 excercises for speaking in the exam. And each time it is a different case. Please don't forget to say "Hello or good morning or good afternoon (which ever you think is appropriate) and How are you doing today".

For reading :- Please practice as many articles as possible from the study materials. In my opinion reading is the toughest. The choices are never straight forward. You have to infer and assimilate details of what you have read in a paragraph. when i wrote the exam, there was a question " what is Demography". But the answer was not given in the entire article.

For listening : - Practise as many listening excercises as possible. you have 2 excercises for this too. One of them is simple and you get time to write while the second one you have to be really really quick.

Take out the list of the recommended books which you would have got with your preliminary exam date schedule from ADC. Select one book for each subject, get ( either buy or from library)all the books and start studying them.
You have to do a very thorough study for the clinical much more than clinical + practice for the practicals like cavity preperation, filling, root canal preperation and obturation, extraction , partial denture desiging.

thanks for the quick reply- Actually I am still not sure why i got C in writing- and I was thinking of applying for Qualitative Feedback from OET-Do u know whether the feedback from OET is helpful? Is it worth the money or a waste of time- why I am thinking about applying for Qualitative Feedback is that I dont know what I have to improve next time when I appear for writing part as I followed the same format as was followed in the OET study materials.- Do u have any suggestion regarding this? and do u know any other study material which I could refer to get a good format for writing exam?
