i put nothing. we aren't required to."Family financial need due to COVID-19 and uncertainty of test resuming"
Nice but mostly this is forcing the schools to graduate everyone and not do that weird KCU and LECOM (I think) thing where they pretend like it should still be a requirement to graduate even after the boards said it's up to the schools they don't care. It's just a statement forcing a few schools to do the right thing because they wouldn't do it of their own volition. It has been canceled for COM 2021. Now wondering how soon COM 2022 will be able to test, if they still have us test. View attachment 323197

We still haven't had PE cancelled.

So take it after graduation and still need it for LEVEL 3. Typical NBOME announcement.

The semantic difference is that before it was "at the discretion of the schools" now it's "it's not a requirement to graduate"how is this an update? They all came out and made that joint statement that is wasn’t required for graduation months ago. I got excited an actual update had come lol.
Oh I see. While I was hoping for a “it’s waived for class of 2021 as a requirement for Level 3 and licensure.”The semantic difference is that before it was "at the discretion of the schools" now it's "it's not a requirement to graduate"
Slight clarification but level 3 doesn’t “need” to be taken during intern year. Lots of people don’t take it during pgy1, for whatever reasonNow the question is if PE will need to be taken during intern year like Level 3 is.

Sure, that information added literally 0 to what I was saying. The original statement was spoken in totality, which i clarified and you... um... said the same thing in a different form.completely program dependent. Some residency programs require it to be taken by December of intern year.

there are no good guys...
Bruh that stinks. I applied very broadly and full steam ahead in a moderately competitive specialty, with very low expectations. It’s gone well. Have gotten one direct question about it so far, usually I just bring it up and own it. Really glad I didn’t waste energy putting it in my PS. Keep your chin up. It ain’t over til it’s overFor those of you stuck with a failed PE/CS like me how has it affected you this cycle? I have average stats for my specialty but lagging in interviews. Preparing to drop the SOAP in the shower come march.
Are you an MD or DO?Bruh that stinks. I applied very broadly and full steam ahead in a moderately competitive specialty, with very low expectations. It’s gone well. DO. Will answer any specifics via DMAre you an MD or DO?
name and fame?Lol, my school did a Zoom Q&A and they were (diplomatically) ****ting on the NBOME. They told us they're trying to get this requirement waived (so we can all take level 3), but apparently everyone at the NBOME has their heads up their butts.

ACOMWhat school?
mfw I have to re-register for the PE after getting a refund
There still aren’t. Just checked again. We have to? I haven’t rescheduled yet because there were dates open
Waiting for April/May dates to post so I can get it done before residency. So what are we doing about this PE thing guys ?!
I do not believe the virus situation is going to be all that much better on April 1 than it is now. If they re-implement the test on that date I would be very shocked. Still predicting we (Class of 2021) will never take this test. *vigorously knocks on wood
I was hoping this would eventually happen. But this last week my school had a presentation NOMBE that Gimpel was supposed to present, he was "unavailable" so someone else presented it for him. The first slide was talking about the NOMBE was distinctly Osteopathic and the only real tests able to gauge a DO. I think as long as they get money the NOMBE will not foldAlso here's a crazy proposal:
Get rid of COMLEX and DO boards and have all DOs take Steps and the usual MD boards
Lol their delusions run deep.I was hoping this would eventually happen. Go raise hell on social media. Anonymously if you wish. It worked before and it can work now. Complaining about all this on SDN won’t fix a thing.
Also, @jbcarmody is trashing the NBOME on Twitter as we speak. Join him.
EXAM DESCRIPTION
The Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Variable-Purpose Examination (COMVEX), developed by the NBOME for osteopathic physicians holding or that have held a valid license to practice osteopathic medicine in the United States, provides an opportunity for professionals to demonstrate basic osteopathic medical competency.
The COMVEX examination provides state medical licensing boards with reports and information on an individual’s knowledge of current osteopathic medical knowledge and practice under standardized conditions.
- COMVEX examinations evaluate the depth & breadth of basic osteopathic medical knowledge, using the same assessment foundation as COMLEX-USA.
