Hi!

I find the general residency application process to be quite confusing to say the least.

Is Match application completely different from PASS (e.g. different essays and different sections to list extracurricular activities)? Or is Match solely for ranking schools and retrieves all the applicant info from PASS? Which application do you submit first (or is it preferable to submit them together)? When do people usually hear back (

Additionally, how many residencies should a pretty average dental student apply for (how many interview and acceptances should one expect)?

Sorry for so many questions. I did not find other similar threads.

thank you for input!

PASS is your application and the Dental Match is solely for ranking.

Submit PASS first then receive interviews then interview then rank the programs you interview on the Dental Match site. You do have to make an account and pay a small application fee to participate in the Match prior to the deadline.

Amount of applications depends on what residency you're aiming for.
