If you had to choose between accepting a paid non-match residency offer or waiting to enter the Match for your top-choice program, which would you choose?

If you had to choose between accepting a paid non-match residency offer or waiting to enter the Match for your top-choice program, which would you choose?

What specialty? And, how competitive of an applicant are you? If it’s one of the more competitive specialties and you’re not the strongest applicant, I’d take the non-Match spot. If it was not a paid residency, however, I’d take my chances in the Match.
