I don't know what to make of this. I received the AMCAS background check E-mail, then the certiphi E-mail before I was accepted to UIC (a school that uses this system). To my knowledge I filled out everything properly.

Not I got into Vermont (another school that uses this) and I again get an E-mail from AMCAS about the background check...what could this mean?

Did I not fill it out correctly the first time?
Do I have to release my "data" to each school separately?
Am I getting another acceptance? (easily the best outcome)

Whenever you get accepted to a school that uses the system, you'll get the AMCAS email. Since you've already filled it out, you won't get anymore emails asking you to fill out anything, since it will automatically be released to any schools you are accepted to (who use certiphi).

btw, congrats!

Has anyone received 2 AMCAS background check emails for the same school? I know I got accepted recently to one that participates in it but I'm still w/l at some others as well...

That's nothing--I got about 15 from the same school (Vermont). I think it's some sort of computer glitch at AMCAS, but I don't think it means anything. (I played phone tag with someone at AMCAS to no avail, but my clearance came through evetually anyway.)
