29 MCAT (11 P, 7!!! V, 11 B)
3.55
Not a URM
Interviews: Rush, UCLA (Geffen), Harvard, Yale, Oregon H&S, Meharry, GWU, Albany (I only attended 3 of these because I got a Rush acceptance in Jan)
Wow!
What's the deal? How did you manage this with such stats?
Anyway, congratulations!
Now this is my story.
I had 29Q,: P10, V8, B11, English is my second language, GPA 3.8, science GPA 3.75, MA in Physiology.
August MCAT + my own stupidity = applied late everywhere, just before the deadlines, also I am 30 y.o. now and had 3 gaps in my education. Not a URM.
Also was restricted due to family reasons to apply only in NY, PA, CT and NJ.
and still:
Interviews: Einstein, Buffalo, Stony Brook, Downstate, NYMC, Drexel. 1st interveiw - Feb 15th, the rest of interviews in March (some of them probably for the waitlist).
Accepted so far:
Drexel (regular acceptance), Stony Brook (got off the waitlist today).
Waitlists: Einstein, Downstate, Stony Brook (got off), Buffalo.
Still waiting to hear from: NYMC, but this is not an acceptance: either a rejection or a waitlist since they send acceptances by email but they just sent my "something" via snail mail.
I am not saying that you should relax and apply late, lol, this was a horrible year for me, do not apply late. I didn't get accepted until May 1st (interviewed at Drexel March 29th), learned on May 7th, was really going insane before that date since summer was approaching and had no acceptances.
So moral of the story is:
ADCOMS are great, they look at the whole application, they are not biased against stats, low MCAT, age, etc. The personal essays DO MAKE a difference, otherwise I would never have gotten any interviews in my situation, I am sure.
Good luck to you, just know what you are worth, it will shine through if not in one part of the application then in another part!
