1. I know plenty of URM who have 30+ MCATs who have ZERO interviews and will have to reapply.
2. The heavy majority of the URM accepted with these numbers go to HBCU schools that most ORM are not applying to anyway.
3. We've all seen the charts so don't pull them up, there are so few URM anyway I can assure you that they aren't the ones keeping you out of med school.
Most importantly: If it bothers you so much then go start another thread yourself and state in the title that it is for non-URM only, I'd love to see how that goes. Please take your offensive post out of here. This is one of the most positive threads on SDN and it doesn't need this. I'm not addressing this further because I don't want to contribute to the thread being derailed. If you care so much, make a new thread, that is all.
My "offensive post" had no intention of derailing this thread and I suppose that it was naive of me to think that there would be no backlash. But you know I'd love to think that not everyone is hellbent on being politically correct and that they are able to examine statistics objectively without making things personal. My real point is and perhaps I should have stated clearly in my last post is that if you are URM and are stating that you have had 9II and 4 Acceptances please include the fact that you are URM or don't post here at all because you are misleading the average individual that comes to this thread.
1. "Plenty"...may be a tad of an exaggeration. Assuming they have ok GPA's, ok people skills, and applied to more than just top tier schools then the stats would say your wrong.
2. I have no problem applying to or attending a HBCU.
3. You've seen the charts but you can't acknowledge that in the case of a non-URM vs URM with the same statistics, the latter in most instances will win. I feel like you are making some harsh judgements about me based on your interpretation of only one sentence. I have nothing against URMs. But I feel like in your head I'm saying, "Curse you URMs for keeping me out of medical school! It's all your fault!" Give me a break.
