26 MCAT 10B 10P 6V P so far have done three M.D. interviews and three D.O. with more to come
Nice! do you mind sharing which MD schools you interviewed at? Thanks 🙂
26 MCAT 10B 10P 6V P so far have done three M.D. interviews and three D.O. with more to come
I am a number 3, and I also have the benefit of number 2. I have been offered interviews for my state school and 2 D.O. schools out of state.
I have JD and MBA degrees, and this past week started coursework towards either a PhD in Health Admin. & Policy or a MPH, coursework to be completed between 2nd and 3rd year of med. school, and dissertation (if any) to be completed during last two years of med. school.
I received a 27 MCAT, 10 VR 10 PS 7 BS. I had a 3.0 GPA in college, don't remember my science GPA.
I have a lot of extracurricular activities, a lot of shadowing experience, a little research and work experience, and a lot of volunteer experience.
Anyone have an idea about my likelihood of further allopathic interviews out of state? Also, what realistic chance do I have at my in-state interview?
Thanks in advance...
Wow, I think that you have some amazing credentials. I am a 27 year old non-trad too but I have about 1/10th as many degrees. That is going to take you a long way my friend. What states are you applying in/to?

I agree. 27Q with 5 interviews?!? That's simply amazing. Just for the sake of curiosity, bbfthegirl are you a member of URM?
Keep hope alive people!
28Q here (8PS, 10V, 10BS) with two interviews (Tulane and Drexel) and only one rejection (Georgetown).
Personally, I believe more interviews are coming our way, we just have to sit back and let those upper 30's MCATers cancel each other out!![]()
Pink, are you URM?
Look on MD Apps... alot of people that get acceptances and interviews with sub 30 aren't urms.. I actually think it's a fallacy that you need a 30+ to have reasonable chance at admissions. Though a 30+ will definitely help. Most people I know that were admitted had sub 30's. They weren't URMs. Though they did have really high gpas and good ECs. Remember, schools post average MCATs for accepted students.. meaning there are some above and some below.
Having said that... I have a 28Q 9PS 10VR 9BS and 3 interviews so far.
Hmmm and what if you're Canadian with a 29S (overall GPA above 3.65, science GPA around 3.55 and non science GPA above 3.75)? Anyone heard of any Canadians getting into US schools with such a score? My breakdown was: 10PS 9VR and 10BS.... would the S of the writing sample compensate for the VR???
Just curious to know, do Canadians have to apply as international?

Thanks for the compliment, DocMcCoy. Yes, I'm a 26 year old non-trad. Like I said, I didn't have a good college GPA, and my only decent grad. school GPA was for my MBA, which was 3.44.

Hi dquacken,
Do you mind revealing which school you received an invite from? I have a 27R and 3.9 gpa and am looking for some hope!
I am pretty new here and not sure how much is too much to reveal, but:
a private in the east
a public in the south
a TX school
AZ x 2 (OOS)
Secondary late July
Returned immediately
Marked complete with LORs etc by early August
28 N on my MCAT and just received my third interview invite from WVU. I am an Ohio resident and have been invited to interviews at WVU and Wright State for MD schools and Ohio University's D.O. school.
