From the Boston area, and nothing in the mail yesterday. Are rejection letters mailed out at the same time?

that's what witzburg said. of course he also told us we'd have an answer by now.
good luck to everyone reading the thread. BU is my second choice, and i was waitlisted at my first so this is pretty big for me. i'm guessing we all hear tomorrow, but i hope i'm wrong.

Gracey103, I think you are my SDN twin.
1. We're both did undergrad at UCI with UCI as our top school
2. Alternate listed at UCI
3. "Thrivers" on the WashU waitlist
4. Drexel is an option
5. Waiting on BU (considering my interview, I don't think I'm really in contention though)

HAHAH..You are right! Thats funny
Thats EXACTLY what my situation is right now. I hope we both get into UCI. I wouldn't mind wash u or BU either. BUt if none of them work out Drexel is fine with me too. I just want to know where Im going. Im tired of all this waiting business. Actually Im deciding between drexel and RFU, but leaning toward drexel. Good luck to you!
Are you still at UCI? Or did you graduate already?Graduated over the summer, but I still hang around UCI mainly to do club stuff and research. Even though the waiting is tiresome, there's just such a huge gap between, say, WashU/BU/UCI and Drexel. There are simply more opportunities there. So perhaps the waiting would be worth it, especially when you consider it's for the next four years.Gracey103 said:HAHAH..You are right! Thats funnyThats EXACTLY what my situation is right now. It's pretty neat to "meet" another UCI applicant. I went to 20 interviews
, and I met only one other person from Irvine. She appeared twice on the interview trail.

I called the office on Monday and they said that rejections would be emailed today and acceptances in the mail today...? Seems like a weird system, but nothing surprises me. Can anyone confirm this?

Please post what's going on with your status, peeps.
I live in PA, and I've received nothing today (and the mail came).
I thought that all decisions (acceptances, rejections and waitlists), would be sent through the mail. Did they really say they would e-mail the rejections?donkeysportif said:I called the office on Monday and they said that rejections would be emailed today and acceptances in the mail today...? I just got off the phone with admissions less than a min. ago. The lady said that notices will be sent both through e-mail and letters, but she didn't say who would receive what. I asked when e-mails/letters were being sent out and she said hopefully by the end of the week.
So much for the 29th huh?

Does that mean it's a good thing if we haven't received an email yet?donkeysportif said:I called the office on Monday and they said that rejections would be emailed today and acceptances in the mail today...? Seems like a weird system, but nothing surprises me. Can anyone confirm this?

so i just called the office, spoke with someone very nice. she said answers will ARRIVE today or tomorrow by either email or letter.
i can't concentrate on a damn thing today. anyone else having a rough time?
Can't concentrate!! Thanks for calling for an update. 😉mjc48 said:so i just called the office, spoke with someone very nice. she said answers will ARRIVE today or tomorrow by either email or letter.

20 interviews!!! 😱 WoW! Thats a lot..I went to 6. When did you interview at UCI? I met a couple of UCI peoples at my interview. I met one other guy from UCI at my BU interview. Other than that I didn't really meet anyone else from UCI. I am going to start hounding the UCI admissions office with letters and phone calls. I actually called Gayle yesterday and asked her what I needed to do to get off the alternate list. She told me to send update letters if I did anything new or new letters of recommendations. But she said that letters of intent are usually useless because med schools think that all their applicants want to go to their school. She says its a misconception that alot of applicants have about letters of intent. I have a couple of friends that are first year UCI med students and they all got off from the alternate list and said that almost half their class and the class before them is from the alternate list. Gives me hope.

hmm seems like acceptances would have to go out by mail since you have to sign the acceptance stuff and send in a check, so maybe rejections are by email....but then again, lots of schools mail rejections and I have gotten some email acceptances that were later followed by the packets. Guess we will just have to wait, especially long for me since I just recently am having my mail forwarded since i just graduated (well hopefully its being forwarded)
Has anyone received an e-mail notification? It's 2:30 in Boston. Are they sending it out at the end of the day? Sweet merciful crap...
BUSOM: Just love me or leave me, but quit it with the blue balls!
Thanks. I actually just laughed for the first time today at "sweet merciful crap". But alas, not one sign of anything here either. 😕
mjc48 said:i'm thinking that it's time to leave work, grab a six pack and a lawn chair and camp out by the mail box.
I'm thinking about getting so drunk today and tomorrow that I don't remember. That's what happened when I checked my MCAT scores. I knew they were coming out so I got totalled. That made the wait better - or maybe I just forgot about the wait.
Seeing as the lone official acceptance notification (from the school, not from an interviewer) was reportedly sent via the post, and since the admissions office claims that all admissions offers will be sent via the same mode of delivery, it just seems to me that all future admissions offers will be sent via the mail as well. So if anyone is praying for an e-mail right now, you might want to stop what you are doing and start praying for an envelope in the mail... a big one.
So on the West Coast, we're going to be frenetically checking our mail tomorrow and Friday? Unless we get a rejection email meanwhile?
They're playing mind games with us...we're like little lab rats. They probably come on here, on this very thread, and chuckle at us.

Sonofabitch... I'm home for break and my AMCAS registered mailbox is 400 miles north! We've 2 more hours if they're sending e-mails by today.
What'd you guys think of BU (honestly) by the way? I'm down to my last few chances at acceptance so I think nothing. But I was wondering what you guys thought.

honestly, BU was my first interview of the season and i was way too nervous to judge things objectively. they seemed to have a good curriculum, strong clinical exposure and a ton of new research money. they're expensive, huge, and the students didn't seem overly happy.
also, i got nothing in the mail today.
Gracey103 said:I guess I am the sacrificial lamb...Just got an email from BU...Im on the waitlist.... 🙁 my last hope...
i just got the email too.
but don't lose hope! BU's waitlist is supposed to be really really small and the dean made it sound like most ppl get off of it eventually....

that sucks! don't give up hope yet, their waitlist is very small and you can still get in!

Thanks Gracey and everybody else posting their e-mail results. That's big of you all. I also remember Dean Witzburg stating the waitlist is small and unranked, so best of luck guys!!!
girlMD03 said:Me too...but I'm not going to stay on it, so hopefully that will make a very small waitlist even smaller for you all!
i will be withdrawing as well.
good luck everyone! 😀

I know...but it just frustrates me. Im on three waitlists now at my top three schools. Granted Im thankful that I have an acceptance at a school, it just sucks to be told to wait and hope some more. I think I'm a fairly competitive applicant and I just don't understand. I felt like my interview went pretty well, and the interview even said that he felt like I would be a good match with the school. Should I write a letter of intent to all the three schools that I have been waitlisted at to increase my chances? I dont want to have to get ready to go to another school, find a place to live and then find out at the last minute that I have to do it all over for some other school. ARgh... 👎
Mike4284m said:yeah I think so too. this is worse than flat out rejection.
If anyone has been rejected by email would you please post? Thanks.
wm103099 said:I'm thinking the waitlist may be slightly longer than the dean indicated
judging from the way they've postponed making decisions so far, i wouldn't put it past them.
