Any word from Einstein

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hang in there guys... i'll be withdrawing my seat at Enstein in the next week, so hopefully that gives one of you a spot! Good luck!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I inteviwed a few weeks before that and my letter came last week aslo.

Hey exigente-

Were you accepted? If so, congrats! Where is the "green with envy" emoticon? 🙂

Treg

All these acceptances within 2-3 weeks are freaking me out! I hope they have room for me too :scared:

I got a letter from Einstein today, but it's not from the admission office...it's from the Hispanic Center for Excellence.

I guess the center does minority recruitment in general, not just for URM...

Nope, CalBeE, I got the same letter!!! And I'm pretty freaking white.... 😀.... so I think they sent it to everyone? Don't know...

My letter came today......dated March 8th (I interviewed on 1/14)...and it was a rejection. 🙁

So I guess the woman at the office remembered me from the rejection pile. SIGH.

Goodluck to everyone else still waiting. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

🙁 So sorry bullhorn! This process is so crazy....Their loss, right ?

Treg😉

Just a random question that I think i asked before on another thread, but it's worth a shot... did anyone waiting interview at the admissions office or was everyone sent to montefiore, jacobi, etc? I interviewed at the admissions office by a retired doctor cause the doc who was scheduled to interview me cancelled at the last moment. I am wondering if anyone else had him and got accepted?😕

Bumping this up for all of us who are waiting :hardy:

I just called to pester them again 🙂 I would love to cancel upcoming interviews, which I will do if I know about Einstein in time!

The adcom meets on Wednesdays. I have not been reviewed as of yesterday, and I interviewed 1/26.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of us😀

Thanks!! Did anyone e-mail Dean Kerrigan about their status instead of calling the admission office??? Keep the hope alive:horns:

Did anyone hear anything Friday/today (since the adcom meets wednesdays)?

This waiting is driving me crazy!!

i'm going crazy too!! i interviewed the same day as you Treg, and they told me the same 8-10 week stuff... i guess we have another 2-3 weeks of waiting then?
good luck....

also, TReg-
I just called. the woman said that i should expect to hear back around the last week of March. that is when she anticipates the committee will meet and discuss my application.
hope that helps

I can't take it anymore!!!!! If you guys (MedAppGurl and Treg) haven't been looked at by the committee then I haven't either and I am going crazy as it is... I really hope that we hear next week!

I think that we are the three Einstein stooges (me, medappgurl, and palatanmr6).

We keep this thread alive with our hope 🙂

😀 😀

 definetly Treg, someone should anonymously send a link to this thread to their adcom and then they will have no choice but to accept us! :hardy:

It's Wednesday....

They could be talking about us RIGHT NOW!

😱

:scared:

I hope for positive outcomes for those of us that may get reviewed today!

😀

Snail mail first, then e-mail about info like Uncle Albert club, etc.

Envelope is standard size, thin - just letter and return envelope inside for you to mail them your response.

I received my waitlist letter today, dated 3/12.

🙁

treg, im so sorry, i know how badly you wanted it. i won't get my mail til tomorrow.
now i'm sad, i smell a waitlist for myself.

Treg I am so sorry to hear about your waitlist, at this point I feel I will have the same result... I hope for our sake that the waitlist moves and that we still have a chance. I will keep you guys posted

Thanks guys 🙂

I was hoping to defer anyway (must be applied for by June 1, and waitlist moves after that so I am screwed), so I may just reapply (early this time).

I took the MCAT in August with hardly any studying, so I am hoping to kill it when I take it again next month. I have been studying a ton, reminding myself "work it, own it...." 😀

Good luck! I hope that I am the only unlucky one amongst us.

Treg

Any day now MedAppGurl, I think by the end of the week this whole fiasco will be over... I just hope it's a happy ending 👍

i am also waiting post interview! but i interviewed in feb so i probably won't hear anything soon...i think. good luck to those who are waiting!!!

I just got an interview invite today (applied somewhat late). At this point, am I correct to assume that it is basically an interview for the waitlist? I haven't been accepted anywhere (waitlisted at WashU and Tulane, just interviewed at UCI and UCSD), so I will probably schedule it anyway, but I'd like to know if I should just cancel it. I'm still torn between staying in Cali if I get in and trying out a different city; NY is definitely at the top of my list of places I'd like to live. But if I am just going to be waitlisted with 900 other students, maybe it's not worth the time and money.

They told me that the interview process only goes through April 30, and the earliest interview date is April 20th for me.

Just got a letter from Einstein today. Came in a thin envelope with only one letter and return envelope. Said I was accepted. Interviewed on 1/23/04; felt my interview went pretty well (in retrospect). Good luck all 👍

Does anyone know what % of the Einstein waitlist gets in and do you need to say they are your top choice for that to happen?

Bump.
It is Monday... so if anyone has gotten more news, post, please!

Congratulations!!

My interview date was 1-26 and the acceptance letter was dated 3-26. It was the standard thin envelope.
I haven't posted on this thread before, but I have read it and it kept me sane while I was waiting. Thanks to all who posted! I hope to see ya'll this fall? Summer? When do classes start? I have so much to figure out!
Besta luck!

Congratulations to Kimmer too!

Classes start in August. If you take the optional "baby biochem", then you start on the 2nd. Otherwise, orientation starts on the 16th.

I am sorry to hear that palatanmr6. Now you can be like me, and wait some more....

I just got an email from Dean Kerrigan asking me if I was still interested in Einstein. I haven't gotten a decision letter yet, but did anyone else get this email? I think this is a good sign that they are considering me for admission, no?

hey medskooler, did you already get an interview or are you still waiting for one?

medskooler, if you tell her you're still interested I am sure you'll get in. When did you interview?

I interviewed some time at the end of January.

Good luck medskooler. She probably wants some sort of a letter of intent from you before you're accepted.
I'm waiting for a decision myself - I interviewed the end of February, so it'll probably be a while before I hear anything.🙁

Hey MedSkooler,

I just got the same email today 4/1 and this is after my 2/6 interview at AECOM. I don't know what to think of it. But it sure sounds positive.

I got the same email yesterday. I don't know if this is a sort of screening process to avoid superfluous correspondance. Do you think this means that we will be place on a waitlist? I wrote back a short email saying that I was still extremly interested in AECOM and hope to hear from them soon. Hope all works out for everyone.

When I interviewed at Einstein, a student told me that she got this email. Its a good sign, they are just trying not to "waste" acceptance offers.

bry, when did you interview? I think you should be getting in.😉

I interviewed at einstein on 1/22. Ive been waiting patiently/anxiously for something from them as it is around that 8-10 week mark. I hope you are right and that it will end up being a good sign! 🙂

To really clear out the confusion here, this email is pretty much an acceptance. Once you express your continued interest in AECOM, you should be getting an acceptance offer in a week or so. I found this info from freshmen at AECOM.

cheers~

Does anybody know how much AECOM will cost per year for out of state students? Thanks.
