I probably couldn't afford Einstein anyway but I'm just watching my NYC dream go up in flames. Grrr.

@ marr: I didn't call, but please let us know if and when they respond. They might not though because they sent out an e-mail on Thursday telling people specifically not to e-mail them regarding timing.
And the Office of Admissions will be closed from Wednesday to next Monday, so I don't think we will hear anything this week. 🙁 🙁 🙁

I will be withdrawing my post May 15 acceptance as soon as the school opens up next week. I just got a call from my in state school and will be going there instead. If only UCI had called me two days earlier before I mailed off my money to Einstein...arggg. Hopefully my spot will help someone out on this thread.

Hi all. So I?ve received the infamous still interested email from Dean Karrigan last Thursday, I replied yes and I call the admissions office on Tuesday to check my status. They said I was in a very favorable position, however, there is no timetable for when they are going to start sending out acceptances again; but when they start they?ll contact me. Now I have no clue if that means all the spots are full or if that means they?ll get back to me after vacation. Hope that helps some. Oh well more waiting in med school purgatory.

Well unfortunately I?m stuck on one of the horrid waitlists that no one knows ANYTHING about; Penn State. If I got in there I think I?d go. But Einstein is definitely better then Drexel which is the only other school I?m waiting to hear back from. Had an interview in May and it was the first one I got too back in December. Anyway chances are looking very good for AECOM and would be so overjoyed to go there. ?K now to re-cross my fingers??.

BTW, I was on the waitlist since Jan and got rejected a few weeks ago, so that is a possible outcome I guess.

Yes it is depressing so if this is your first choice of med school I would suggest that you send in as many as LOI as possible. Ms. Mango, I believed, said that acceptances wouldn't go out until the second week of June. So, here's to another depressing weekend 🙁 🙁

marr, thanks a lot for the info from your call. Let's all just try to gather enough patience to wait another week. I don't think we're in a bad position. This may sound naive and dumb, but for the exception of us, I still haven't seen a person get a favorable review and not get accepted. Let's just hope it's a matter of time.

I just emailed Einstein today and withdrew my application. I've committed to Miami and I didn't want to slow down the Einstein committee by having them review my file for nothing. Good luck guys!

Hey marr and Audioslave. Thanks for keeping my spirits up and hope alive. If aren?t sending acceptances til the second week of June maybe they haven't sent ours out yet. I would still hate to be the first favorable people to not get in. And yes I did interview on Feb. 24, were you there too?

Yeah, it's weird since schools like NYMC and Drexel are still sending out acceptances post-interview. Plus, they accept the same amt. of students as Einstein. Oh well, another week I guess 👍

You guys know that med schools must legally (per AAMC bylaws) offer more people than they anticipate taking in their incoming class by Mar. 15. Thus, anyone who interviewed after that point is being considered "after the class is filled." Don't despair yet!

I'm still waiting on Einstein too.. 😕

Hey all, I'm going to take part in the class of 2009 applications just as soon as April MCATs come out and I was thinking about applying to Einstein. The truth of the matter is, though, that I don't know anything about it other than what I've seen on the internet. It's true that one can gather much from class profiles and curriculum, but I'd like more intimate descriptions if they're available. Would anyone care to tell me why they like Einstein? Thanks!

Hey all there is someone who started a new thread with this question:
I spoke to someone at Einstein today to check on my status. The lady there told me that I was on the acceptance list but they still had to wait until other people replied to their offers before sending me an offer. What does this mean? I asked if this means I'm on the waitlist and she said no. Does this mean I'm in? Thanks for any help.

Interesting eh? I ask them if they had the email from Dean Kerrigen but no response yet. Keep a look out though and finally here's to good news tomorrow for us all!

Mine said to reply by the third week of May. I got it on April 29th. I don't know about you tink, but I'm really losing my patience with Einstein. Fifteen weeks after the interview and still without a decision...

I'm new to this thread and have only started reading it tonight. wow...u guys really know how to keep it going...13 pages and my eyes are about to fall out of my head. anyway, Tinkerbell, i was the one who put up the new thread. i had called the admissions office today and she said that i'm on the acceptance list but they were waiting for ppl to reject their offers. i don't know what that means at all and since i'm a canadian, this whole process is foreign to me. anyway, just thought i'd let you guys know that. thanks 🙂

I think what's happening is that those people who interviewed later and who would have normally receieved an acceptance are being put on a sort of "hold list" b/c the class is full right now. So these people would be first in line to receive any spots that open up before the waitlist people. I think someone had this idea earlier in the thread.....

It sounds like the accepted list is a high priority waitlist

Okay, so I couldn't help myself, so I called to check my status today. Lady on the phone said 'nothing yet.' She also said the class is full and that I will hear from them anytime between now and August. (August?!?! 😱 ) She added that they will probably not be taking anymore acceptances for a couple more weeks. (So she really meant between 2 weeks from now and August 🙁 )
