So I don't know how their whole routine works over there. They release all acceptances of people who interviewed prior to this month? Do the acceptances come by email? What if one gets waitlisted? Does that come by email too or snail mail? Anyone who knows anything, please tell me. I am very curious.

On their site, it says that everything is communicated by email. I assume that that means acceptances too. When I interviewed in mid- october, the admissions office lady said that we would hear in January. I am not sure abou later interviews... I have heard that they will be out later.

Awesome! Thanks! I interviewed in October too, but at the end of it. Good luck!

The webpage says "There are few occasions when the Admissions Office communicates with applicants by paper 'snail mail.' The exception is letters of disposition." I'm fairly sure that a letter of disposition is a decision letter, so I expect that that we'll, unfortunately, get snail mail notification. That's also what one of the tour guides told me to expect when I interviewed back in October. Best of luck to everyone next week!

snail mail....ugggh.....across the continent and the border...long wait for me i guess

ok, so the full quote from the page is:

"There are few occasions when the Admissions Office communicates with applicants by paper “snail mail.” The exception is letters of disposition. Occasionally, applicants may be sent a letter requesting specific information. At all other times, communication is via email [email protected]and/or telephone 718-430-2106. Our FAX number is 718-430-8840. "

I took this to mean that letters of disposition were letters requesting specific information. But now, I don't know. How do you guys read that?

sounds to me like they're mailing letters of acceptance out only and that no emails will be sent

That is what I remember being told by my interviewer/tour guides when I was there in October. I definitely want to hear, but I don't want to wait for the letter to get all the way to Arizona...

I believe they said they would send letter on the 15th...so who knows when they will start showing up.

I just called them. They said that all decisions are mailed. Also, all people who are accepted get an email as well. All those who interviewed in september and october will hear either on or around the 15th, december people will hear in the end of January/beginning of february

Thanks a ton for calling and clarifying this for everyone 😍

Unfortunately this is just going to make me extremely nervous all next week...looks like I will be checking my email several hundred times a day!

they're my current #1 east coast choice. and i feel like i've been waiting forevvveerrr. just like many of you 🙂 one week!

Thank you so much for calling and being the designated "facts" person. Good luck next week everyone and try not to go insane this weekend.

I'm so excited to hear back from this school!! I really loved it there and I think I'd be very happy there.

Good luck to all!!

Anyone know what percentage of interviewed applicants are accepted at this point in the game? I am pretty sure that it is higher than their overall percentage (which is like 25% of something). I remember one of the tour guides saying that many of the students they interview early are those who are very qualified, but I'm not entirely positive that they weren't saying that just to ease our nerves!

einstein interviews a lot of people....but i feel like somehow einstein does a very good job selecting people that are really genuine and easy to get along with at least from my visit....i really like einstein....i just don't like the whole yeshiva thing, the dirty buildings, and sucky financial aid....that said...i'd probably still go =P

good luck to all on tuesday!

According to US News, they interviewed 1326 and accepted 542 last year.

What do you mean "the whole Yeshiva thing"?

that your degree is from yeshiva university...kinda weird

I know what you mean about the Yeshiva thing. I don't think the fact that it is Jewish is the problem, just that it is a school that definitely doesnt appeal to the masses, mainly because undergrads there are required to undertake Torah studies, so only people who are serious about Judiasm go there (I would think). The other strange thing is that for being such a highly ranked university, no one that I've ever talked to from back home has ever heard of it. And I live in New York state! 😕

All that said, I think that I would love it there and can't wait to hear back!!

Bumping this thread!

yeah its the type of thing where you tell your mom's friend's where you go to school and they sort of give you the funny look because they've never heard of it or they have and think its not a reputable school even though it is in the medical field

Even if your mom's friends may not know it, I think that almost everyone in the medical field will know it, and isn't that what matters? If you look at their residency math, it's pretty darn good. I liked the school a lot when I visited - good curriculum, better than average facilities, and the nicest students I've encountered anywhere.

its just ironic that ive heard from three Jesuit schools and not a peep from my own camp.

i completely agree. nicest students of all. match list is INCREDIBLE

Ive got nothing thus far....interviewed early Oct.
Should we be expecting a letter notification near the end of the week, or an email tomorrow?

I'm wondering the same thing. I interviewed in September.

Has anyone called today? 😀

Someone said that acceptances should come tomorrow (the fifteenth) by email; other decisions will be conveyed via the USPS and should arrive later on in the week.

threads from previous years didn't mention email notification so this may be a new thing...but the threads did say that some ppl received emails noting that they were nominated for scholarships and to apply for them which often came before there snail mail acceptance.....so not sure what their deal is but good luck to all t/m!

I'm nervous about tomorrow. I like knowing that a decision is coming either way. I know that whenever I check my email tomorrow, if I don't see anything from Einstein, I will likely come on here and check to see if they have sent acceptance emails!

Haha I hear ya. Good luck. I am pretty nervous too!

As for the above comment "the whole yeshiva thing"---Even though I am not orthodox, as a Jewish person it just hit me the wrong way and I wouldn't be surprised if I were the only one. I would just suggest maybe being a little more careful with your words or explaining beforehand what you mean by them before anyone even has the chance to think otherwise. Honestly, it just sounds kinda bad. Like if I were to say, "I liked school X, except for the whole Jesuit (or whatever--fill in the blank with any religious group) thing." Sorry to harp, I'm sure you didn't mean anything malicious by it....

Good luck to everyone.

Incidentally, no one who referred to the whole "Yeshiva thing" mentioned judiasm...just people who enquired what the poster meant. I think he made it clear that what he meant was that for it being such a good university, it has virtually no name recognition, and thats public relations and not religion. I think you're making a divisive issue where there isn't one, so I would honestly ask that you be careful as well.

Good luck tomorrow, everyone!

The poster actually didn't make himself clear at first (but he did make himself clear in a subsequent post)... and I also was wondering what he meant at first with the whole "Yeshiva thing" comment, and honestly I was worried... and the name "Yeshiva" clearly has a jewish connotation, and being jewish I was really worried about what he meant for a moment (and again the poster subsequently made themselves more clear).. but I think you should think carefully before telling someone that they are creating a "diversity issue where isn't one," when I and I am sure other Jewish people were wondering what was meant by that comment

Actually, I'm Jewish as well and when I read the whole Yeshiva comment, I thought he was talking about the religion thing as well. Religion is always a touchy topic, and I guess everyone should be more careful about it.

I still think it was pretty cllear that by Yeshiva he meant the university, and not just the general noun, but I can see where you're coming from too. I just would hate to see people making an issue where there isn't one. Anyhow, I think most of us can agree that we loved Einstein and would be thrilled to have an email in our inbox tomorrow, so good luck to you all!

Agreed...it's a great school and that's what matters!

Also agreed....I would love to get that email tomorrow

I don't know how I'm going to get to sleep tonight! gah!

here we go! hopefully we all get that email today!

must stop checking this thread...
