Anyone else freakin' cuz your interviews are too late for an acceptance?O_o

I told my 7yo son to go get a bath. He took off his clothes and is dancing naked in my living room.

gd, I'll tell you a very cute story about my son... y'know how you always tell your kids to go potty before you go anywhere? (ok, you'll get to this stage at some point.) Well, a couple of years ago we were getting ready to go shopping, and I told my son to pleeeeease try to go. After arguing with him about it for a couple minutes (Honey, go potty before we leave. Mom, I don't haveta. Please, dear. MOM, I DON'T HAVETA.) we were still nowhere. Now, mind you, my parents were visiting at the time and we were all standing in the foyer looking up the stairs at him. He pulls down his pants, points to his penis and shouts "LOOK! NO PEE!"

How can you argue with that? It was all we adults could do not to absolutely bust up laughing. Ah, the joys of parenting.

Vitalic's all right, which is to say I liked it. If you haven't got Wu-Tang meets the Indie Culture then you're missing out. Aes Rizzle, Del tha Funky Homosapien and RZA on one track? Damn right.

ya i've been on top of that. but good heads up. that aes/del track is dope. but other than that, give it up, and verses, didn't feel too much else.

HA! Oscar is refusing to nap as we speak. I put on antiques roadshow in hopes that it will lull him into sleepy-land.

Love Cheesewhiz. It's the not knowing what's in it that makes it half the fun!

I too am nursing a head cold. But I have to put together Oscar's present today--a whole Brio train world with bridges, roundhouse, fire station. We are building a 6'x3' table to have it all set up for him when we open presents on Tuesday night (leave for Chicago on Wednesday).

BTW: loving the Beck lyrics Desired and Mota. I do love Beck so.

Mucinex. It's like an enema for your head.

You're quite a quiet domino, bury me now.
Take off your band-aid 'cause I don't believe in touchdowns.

Yeah, I said it. How you like it now?

mucinex really work for head cold, too? hmm... better go get some. Sick of havin' a face full of green cement. Breathing at night through my nose would be nice, too. And I could do without the vertigo.

Mucinex will reach in and rip that green out. I'm talking roto rooter. Go deep.

just got my 3rd rejection of the week. i'm on a roooooooll.

that's not cool, way to bring down this whole thread....j/k, that really sucks....no school that rejects you is not deserving of you attending their school....how many schools do you have still to hear from?

Ahhhh Wilco. Saw them here at Red Rocks last summer. Great show.

Mota, sorry about the rejections. I just had to go to my husband's boss' Christmas party. Oscar and I sat down in their basement and watched Polar Express.

Yikes, yours is way worse than mine. I just feel crappy in the morning and at night. Pretty functioning during the day.

Oh, I'm still functioning, gd. Takes more than this to get me down.... Once had tri-lobal pneumonia, strep, bronchitis AND a sinus infection (yes, all at once) and kept going until my fever reached 104F and I lost three days. Just lost 'em. Don't remember 'em at all. My boss apparently called home 'cuz I didn't show up to work for two days.

Another time I broke my back (sounds worse than it really was.. I broke off the spinous process of T11/T12 right at the base) and waited 3 months to go see someone. Kept working. but it hurt like a f*cker and I couldn't sit with my back against anything. Those pieces never did heal back and are still "floating".

Now broken ankle? Ok. That stopped me for a while. Especially after the surgery. I'm a tough old broad. Takes a lot to stop me.

has anyone rented any good movies lately? i have the unlimited rentals program for this month so i can go crazy, any suggestions?

The Corpse Bride (dunno if it's been released to DVD rental places, but the DVD is out on the internets), Batman Begins was pretty good, so was sin city. You can never go wrong with the good, the bad, and the ugly if you've never seen it.... Howl's Moving Castle was good, if you're into that sort of movie....
I'm jonesin for pancakes.

rent soderbergh's schizopolis if you haven't seen it and are into film. its insane but really sick.

btw, beck's remix album guerolito came out. the remixes of hell yes, que onda guero, wish coin and the new track clap hands are off the chains. look into it.

The first 2 seasons of "Arrested Development."
All four of "Curb Your Enthusiasm"
"A Day without a Mexican" was pretty interesting
"Goodbye, Lenin!" was good

Guerolito is quality, the air and el-p (we always pronounced it elp) remixes are really good.
I've been on the old school jazz tip lately. Sidney bechet, ornette coleman, sonny rollins, ella fitzgerald have all been getting good rotation.
pancakes really are the true breakfast of champions.

you've been ranting about pancakes for a few days now. i dig creme fraiche pancakes a lot but that normal IHOP stuff hits the spot too. today my breakfast was cold pizza and ranch dressing. i just woke up.

by the way i've listened to the islands remix of que onda about 30 times in the last 24 hours. let it grow on you.

I think that this was directed at gdbaby; I don't think that you and gdbaby should go to the same school. One medical school can only handle so much neuroses.

Of course you'll get in, Mota, you have four interviews and are not an dingus. Congratulate yourself on a job well done and try to stay away from Gdbaby. You guys just egg each other on.

Allright, gdbaby, is THAT a picture of you in your avatar? I've gone to thinking that you are hairy overweight male who works in an office to thinking that you are a hairy overweight female who drinks beer to thinking that you were a really cute kid. Stop playing with my mind.

I said the same thing about that. It's not all hot, but when he mixes BOB into deceptacon... oooooh. And now he's got me listening to cat power again, too.
And yeah, i think mota and gdbaby going to the same school is bad chicken. It would be entertaining as all hell to watch, though.

That's my son. I am an average looking, very fit woman who likes to drink til I'm hot.

I 😍 grilled cheese with tomato soup. I didn't know anyone outside my family ate that combo though. If you're hungry for something more than that, adding a some sliced turkey to the grilled cheese is really good too.

I almost hate to say this, but I like to dip my grilled cheese into my tomato soup. It's YUMMY! 🙂 🙂

What is soup for if not to dip bread in? And as we know, bread is just a vehicle for cheese or peanut butter.

Here's a new direction for this thread--other uses for soup?

Cream-based or stock-based?

How did they make casseroles before Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup?

CREAM, gd. They used CREAM and real honest to goodness fresh mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Still makes a better casserole.

Cream? What is this mystical potable of which you speak? Is it made by CoffeeMate?

You have clearly never played the game, "I can make that meal in two cans or less."

i do love croissants.
they always seem to be left out for some reason.

Left out of the soup? I wonder why? What movie(s) did you end up getting for the month?

especially toasted.....and dipped in milk...mmmmm

idk what else soup can be used for past dipping bread or just drinking it at the end

I had a question actually... I interviewed forever ago 9-29. The decision was made on 11-30 because they were falling really behind in the committee meetings...

Do you think that I would still be talked aboutin the committee like I was an early applicant? I mean I did my part by interviewing early and what not. They were the ones that fell behind.

Do you think that I was still considered an early applicant? The letter I am thinking is coming tomorrow - so I am trying to calm my nerves for now.

Wow, this is an awkward situation.
Jezzielin, we do our part at this thread to skirt real issues. This thread is really a front for our inane and often insipid drivel.
Look at the topics above your post - they're all about soup.
But I'm going to try to help you out. Ok, here it goes: You're an early applicant and your application will be treated accordingly by the admissions committee.... I think. The people on the committee are human, they get a little late sometimes, I wouldn't worry too much about that. Let's remain calm - for a moment anyway. Regardless, it's out of your hands now. You did your best and I'm sure the outcome will reflect your efforts. Good luck. And where does that icky soup skin come from?
