This is only going to give me false hope. I have been on hiatus since 8/15, thats a long long time. One interview, can I get at least one more please?

2 hours after my first post in this thread: rejection letter in the mail from GWU. The saddest part is, I thought I actually had a shot there. They put you down nicely though, I must say.
 
ive been on hiatus since i was complete in mid-august
my application isnt that bad...is it? 😕
 
3 interviews so far, 3 weeks since the last, 3rd post in this thread..

That has to mean something right..?
 
C'mon lucky thread! Please send me some interview goodness from Mt Sinai/NYU/Case/Northwestern/UCLA/UCSF/BU/PENN/Dartmouth/Baylor! Heck.. any of them will do!!

haha i joined this thread to whine about my lack of interviews and now i realize people with interviews are hijacking it to use it as a "lucky charm"?? i feel so cheated...🙁 thought there were others to wallow in shared misery...hehehe
 
I think originally it was a place to complain but now it is a temple 🙂 Speaking of which... luck! :bow:

I'm getting the feeling that I'm just not going to get any more interview invitations. The silence from some schools seems to indicate that I'm just not that good of an applicant and they've already put me in the "reject" pile. I reread some of my secondary essays and BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE. My essays are terrible. My Yale essay has THREE typos. They must be laughing heartily at my pathetic application down in New Haven. I've been feeling really awful lately. I need something to cheer me up... Come on lucky thread!

Haha, yeah, that's why I don't re-read my essays unless I"m going to interview at that school. I am Queen of horrible typos. I once turned in an essay assignment that had one paragraph just CUT OFF. Apparently, when I had gone to erase a comma, I had highlighted a few extra sentences and deleted them too without realizing...awesome right? Yeah...

I haven't had time to worry about interview hiatus yet. It's been a few weeks since my last invite, but I'm nervous enough about the upcoming ones this week that I scheduled that I don't have extra stress-power left over to think why I don't have more interviews. I'll be back on this thread freaking out after next week though 🙂

nothing for more than a week. agh!!! i'm not expecting to get into HMS or Yale, but some news from Emory, NYU, Mt.Sinai, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

So I have gotten two interviews but am waiting on a few schools which are at the top of my list. I was once told calling the schools could be to my advantage. Does anyone have an opinion or know if this works? And what in the world would I say?
Just throwing it out there.

lol.....I mistyped UCSD in my essay for them! I actually misspelled the name of the school and they still gave me an interview. All hope is not lost. Although my guess is that they still laughed at me when they read it....

I cut/paste my Pittsburgh essay and edited it for Michigan and almost submit it with "I believe these factors would make me a great fit at the University of Pittsburgh." but barely caught myself before submission. They probably sensed it though, which is likely while I'm on hold 🙁

I'd like to know this as well. Many schools clearly say "we will not do status checks by phone or e-mail, blah blah blah, be patient, we will get back to you" (insert other vague procrastinatory (sp?) statements here)

So do people still call while they're sitting around waiting for an interview? What do you say?
 
oh and... please give me some good luck, magical interview thread.. i've been waiting 3 WEEKS (weeks!) since my last invite. this is killing me!
 
crazy! after not hearing anything for 3+ weeks, i got 2 new interviews this week! i just need one more from one of my top choice schools and i will be a happy happy person!😀

I just received an invite to Case Western and Cleveland Clinic not even an hour after finally giving in and posting on this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
only one interview and that came in early-mid august. dead eerie silence since then. let this be the lucky post to bring in more emails/snail mails/calls/pigeons/whatever!

NYU seems to be sending out invites slowly for specific 3 week periods with only a couple weeks notice. So be prepared to have only three weeks notice 🙂
 
Got a complete email from columbia today! (Took over 2 months -- I wonder if they misplaced something)

Thursday = Northwestern day. Lets go!

So after angering the thread gods after posting on successive days and then receiving an interview then a rejection I took some time off for respect of the thread...but now I am back wishing for the best. por favor, me ayuda

Every day that goes by without an interview invite, a little piece of me dies.

It's been officially 4 weeks for me.
 
is it just me or does it seem like the top schools are just waiting to send invites. i mean some schools are already sending acceptances...soon
