You know, I technically havn't not yet received an invitiation to interview. The link just appeared on my page and I scheduled it. I did get a confirmation of my interview appointment, but never did receive any email or letter inviting me to interview. Go figure.

Damn, so I e-mailed my faculty interviewer couple days ago and she responded by sayin that my file will go to committee within the next 2 weeks.. So either this Thursday or next Thursday!!! This Thursday will be the 4 week mark. I will definitely be callin Friday to see what's up. I keep tryin to get some emotion/hints out of her in the e-mails but never any luck haha. She always responds with just a sentence or two, which is understandable given all the e-mails she probably has to read everyday.

K, just felt like sharing that info with you all lol. FEW MORE DAYS!!! to everyone.

Hey, good luck dude! I hope we'll be reading an "I GOT IN" post from you within the next few weeks. By the way, they won't tell you anything over the phone, even after a decision has been made. All you'll get is "A decision has been made on your application and you will be receiving a letter shortly." 😡 Been there done that last year. And then it took a friggin week for the letter to arrive (waitlist) even though I live in New Jersey right across the river from Philly!

By the way, how do you know the AdCom meets every Thursday? Did your interviewer tell you that?

yes, i believe they told me they meet every thurs. in fact, while i was there for interview on a thurs, the dr. who heds the PIL program came in around 2:30 and was a little late and said "sorry, just got out of a committee meeting!"

and that sucks that they don't tell u anything over phone... i'll still try to sucker somethin out tho 😀

Please PM me a personal statement not exceeding 1000 characters (please do not "cut and paste" from Word) explaining why you want to sign up for this list explaining the personal attributes and life experiences you possess that you feel will enable you to meaningfully participate in this discussion.

you and me both. I think their MSTP admissions office is even less efficient than the regular md admissions office. And that is a feat tough to accomplish. Where oh where is my interview/hold/rejection e-mail? It would be nice to know something...

An interesting (or maybe stupid) question about the Drexel interview process ... besides who has gotten an interview and who hasn't.

I read on another thread that at some schools your interviewer presents your file to the AdCom. I don't know why (maybe I'm an idiot), but I assumed the interviewer just wrote something up and his interview write-up, along with the rest of your file, is what the AdCom looked at. How does it work at Drexel?

Not sure this helps, but I believe at the interview they said committee decision results from:
1) Faculty interviewer's grade on 1-5 scale
2) 1-5 grade from someone who reads your application without meeting you
3) Student interview (unspecified input, but they assured us it counted)

Then I believe the committe votes, majority rules. As far as the precise manner in which the faculty interviewer presents the information to the committe, got me too.

i was (as the previous poster said) referring to haemulon and others' discussion of applying to the thread. nonsensical really.

but on the subject of drexel's MD/PhD office, i'm shocked that they haven't given either of us an interview yet. especially you...but i also got the impression i might have a good shot there after talking to someone in the admissions office. maybe they are just taking their sweet time.

Robizzle and I are pretty much in the same boat and have been plugging along since the beginning of the cycle. Good luck to you on your re-app! That takes real dedication to go through this all over again. I am cringing at the thought that I may have to do this again, but we have to keep following our dreams. Should that turn out to be the case for me this summer, i'll probably take a couple weeks off from thinking about the next cycle to go and cry in my beer.
