Anyone hear about interviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I heard one of my friends got Univ. of Maryland.

Did apply there, so I guess that's OK.

Did Emory send an email or snail mail? Which Emory track did you apply for? I haven't heard of anyone else getting any other interviews just a few emails about applications being complete.

For emory I got an email - it was for the clinician-scientist tract. when I read the email closer, it stated that this tract was outside the match. Strange, did not expect that.

01/04 Rejection from Emory (clinical track)
01/04 Interview from U. Oklahoma.

--both via email.

Maybe Emory only wants research people...I personally think that doing research for 2 years before clinical training is stupid because 1) how do you really know what you are interested in cards w/o having complete clinical exposure and 2) who do you know who to work with?

It seems to me that there research track is good only for Emory's established investigators looking for cheap scut monkeys, as opposed to setting up fellows for future careers in academics.

I can say that I am not super excited about their research track setup, with 2 years up front. I would prefer to have the research at the end and have time to find a project. Maybe they will be flexible with that? I think they are looking for already established researchers to come into that program, who know what they want to do. But it can be hard to stay away from positions that are "scut monkey" like, or fall into a high risk projects that may or may not work out. Just need to do your research before you arrive.

It appears that Cleveland Clinic in Ohio is no longer participating in the ERAS. Does anybody have more information on this?

As far as I know it is - why do you say that?

I got an interview for clinical scientist track at Emory---- No other invites--- nobody else from my program has heard back from any program that I know of---

I'm not applying for cards, but several people in my program got interviews at UNC yesterday as well. This cards match sounds rough. Congrats to all of you!

Just curious: what's your background? (AMG/FMG, research, where do you do your residency etc). Northwestern is pretty selective and you're the only one I heard with interview. Thx

Just received Northwestern 1/15

Congrats! I did not get northwestern. I did get a "your an alternate" for an interview spot. Does anyone know if this something they send all of their applicants?

Nope, it certainly appears that there are Total Rejections in addition to the Subtotal Rejection ;-) Goodluck...

I got rejections from north western and Emory. Waiting for other responses.

Rejection northwestern- a "total rejection" as it would be called-- I think subtotal is better than total but it still seems kind of cheesy for a program to do that- congrats to the totals and subtotals---

Cleveland Clinic also has sent out invitations to interview.

I got Univ of Alabama last week and Northwestern yesterday.

Does anyone know if programs let everyone know about their interview status i.e. if you are given an interview or if you are rejected, or do they just leave you hanging?
